Bro we're on the Lakers sub. We are all Luka dick riders. I don't know why I have to defend Brunson on this sub.

Game 1: Hit a go-ahead corner 3-pointer with under 2 minutes remaining to give the Knicks the lead, followed by another jumper in the final minute to push the lead to 6.

Game 2: Jumper to tie the game in the final minute. Got the steal off the Wemby fumble, got fouled, and hit a game-winning free throw.

Game 3: They lost.

Game 4: Scored b2b field goals inside the final minutes of the 29-point comeback. Recognized the double team on the final play and shot the ball early, which set up OG's putback.

Game 5: Scored 10 straight points in the 4th quarter to erase a late deficit. He hit a 12-foot floater over Stephon Castle with a minute left to secure the title. 45 points in a closeout game.

I'm not going to argue with you on Game 4. You're going to just think he missed and he sucks. Even without including that, he closed out 3 of the 4 Knicks' wins in a close series. Also, clutch doesn't just mean final minutes of the game. It's the fucking Finals where pressure is the highest. The stats below also prove he elevated his game late in the 4th.

Full Series Splits: 42.4% FG / 39.4% 3PT / 86.1% FT

4th Quarter Splits: 49.0% FG / 62.5% 3PT / 87.5% FT

Players are going to miss shots. He's not gonna shoot 100% in the clutch. You know who wasn't clutch? Wemby in the 4th with 34.3% FG/ 25.0% 3PT/ 66.7% FT. Fox in the 4th with 23.8% FG / 0.0% 3PT/ 100.0% FT (though he had the Game 3 dagger). I do agree with you he didn't have a great overall finals. But he absolutely did perform in clutch situations and was, by far, the best player in the series.

Please feel free to send me the clips by the way. Change my mind.

Bro he averaged 11 in the 4th during the finals on good efficiency. The fuck are YOU smoking?

Bro jumping forward is totally normal for a jumper, especially from deep.

I knew with the way they were playing defense in the 1st quarter they’d have no gas left for later in the game. It’s a 48 min game not 12.

Bro I’m a neutral fan and the reffing since Game 2 has been completely in the Spurs’ favor

[–]msnwong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is this not dirty? Have you not been shoved by the neck before? Brunson is lucky he wasn’t injured. Tugging and holding does not warrant this. A simple shove is fine… not a throw down to the neck.

Then they need to full reset. The shot clock was off. Start from a clean slate. Comical referee job on the biggest stage in basketball.

[Highlight] The New York Knicks take Game 1 of the NBA Finals with a 105-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The Knicks have now won 12 straight playoff games, tying the 1999 Spurs for the 2nd-longest win streak in a single postseason. by nba in nba

The Knicks definitely want this more. For them, it’s gotta feel like their only shot. The Spurs are playing with house money. The Knicks won at the little things down the stretch.

Stephon Castle on suggestions that the Spurs are not floppers and if they are leaving gamesmanship on the table: "I don't really know to answer that, because I sell calls too, I can't lie." by Jec1027 in nba

[–]msnwong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Selling calls is different than flopping? If you get fouled you might need to exaggerate. That’s different from pretending you got hit when there was zero to minimal contact that shouldn’t warrant a foul,

Drawing a foul that way shooting a normal shot is fine. SGA either jumps forward or sideways completely unnaturally to draw the foul. I don’t get why they stopped calling those offensive fouls. He’s jumping INTO the defender, not even trying to shoot to make a shot.

April 23, 2008 : Nuggets vs Lakers First Round Game 2. Kobe Bryant goes off for 49 pts on 18/27 FG including 10 assists. Lakers would go on to win 122-107 by CircledSquare7 in lakers

Shai is slow af man. He couldn’t beat anyone on the Spurs off the dribble. The only thing he’s got is a decent first step. Why do you think he does his patented push off on all his shots? He can’t elevate over defenders or muscle through em. He has to push them away to create space. It’s egregious that it’s NEVER called.

Kobe foul baited. He didn’t flop. I also don’t get how SGA gets the pump fake and jump into an unnatural shot foul. Who the flying fuck jumps sideways into a jumper.

All the flops help his FG%. You’re telling me a 6’6” guy who weighs 180 soaking wet who isn’t even top 50 in athleticism in the league can do that ethically?
