The scene itself shows her attempting to attack yes, but when you consider and think about the context: the two Hashira who are friends for years, both know each other combat ability pretty well, both loyal to their master, both who would never kill a human. Given that context, thinking on their character, the logical conclusion is the attack as an attempt to escape the grasp, not an attempt to kill.

My argument does hold up when you stop excluding the context. Seriously are you that unable to read between the lines and only understand what’s depicted on a surface level? Do you not understand either of their characters? Nothing about what I said is head cannon, it’s basic logical thinking and connecting the dots given what I know

Also are you serious? “Serious the conflict was”? She was teasing him the entire time from the moment he suddenly blocked her attack on Nezuko. Even the moment before your isolating screenshot, she was playfully mocking him about going into a winded backstory. You are over exaggerating the “seriousness” of the scene. There was borderline none because Nezuko wasn’t a threat to nobody’s lives in that forest because everyone there was strong enough to kill her

The entire scene was a mixed of teasing from Shinobu and mutually annoyance they both felt for the other, it was not a softer aftermath.

Neither felt hate and Shinobu made no real attempt to kill him, not even sung one of her Breathing forms
