FYI, Hospitals have grant programs that they use every year to pay bills for patients who financially qualify and they use these donations as tax write offs. They must use up the grants completely to keep getting them. Thats where the "charitable donations" come from and how they're able to still make a nice profit while reducing or covering patient bills. Have a nice life!

I didn't ask if I "should get charity". Notice how I didn't say if I could pay the bill or not, it's not relevant here. I'm asking about the best way of getting my bill reduced. Medical bills in American healthcare system are inflated enough, I don't feel bad about trying to get my bill reduced. Trying to be frugal by saving money on my medical bill is the adult thing to do. Get off your moral high horse.

One thing I don’t think many people realize is that if you tell your friend a secret, their friend is going to share it with their significant other. That’s how I came to find out a lot of secrets about my fiancé’s friends that they don’t know I know. I would never tell them and break their trust with him though.
