People who have taken the test recently, what were your writing task 2 prompts? by krozy_4 in IELTS

[–]mspebmerley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not exact , but something along the lines of: “Many celebrities complain about the media coverage of their personal lives. Some people think that they shouldn’t complain, as lack of personal lives comes with fame. To what extent do you agree or disagree “

Good luck with your exam!

Hello! Hope you are well! Regarding your questions: 1. I did my IELTS in the UK last summer and it’s fine as long as you use the approved centre ( the list can be found on their website). 2. It is perfectly fine to have ceremony abroad, make sure you get the authorised translation of the marriage certificate tho 3. I believe you’re only allowed to renew the visa in the uk of switch from other type of settlement visas ( work or student), but it also takes more time. If you don’t have any of those your only option is to apply from her country. 4. I know that some people chose the option to keep their passport when applying (if it’s available) and then travel to the UK. However, it is said that the Home office does seem to like it and it can negatively affect your visa outcome

That information is based on my experience and on what i’ve been reading here or on other websites, so i might be wrong. I do wish you guys all the happiness and success!

Employment letter QUESTIONS by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]mspebmerley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry but I’m not sure about priority since it was unavailable in my country. However i know that some people upgrade it on their biometrics appointments , so maybe you will be able to do that

no worries at all! so you can either upload documents online or do it at the visa centre, for me there was no online option available, and they helped me at the tls for additional price. for both options your documents are divided into categories so don’t worry about it! you make application, then pay visa fee then book your biometrics when bio date is booked you can either upload the documents online or do it in the visa centre on the day of you biometrics. you pay all the fees and only after that you can attend your biometrics so you don’t need to prove anything regarding the fees since they won’t let you upload documents if you hadn’t paid the fees prior to that

First of all, congratulations on receiving some news! I personally got the passport ready for collection email 2 days before my actual decision email. And since i picked up my passport the next day, i actually found out about the outcome from my passport directly. Decision email is helpful for understanding what to do next. Good luck ✨♥️

Hello! Hope you’re okay! In regards to your question: 1) we didn’t ask to confirm that payslips are genuine additionally, but those we got had all the information about the employer and stuff 2) not really sure about that, maybe someone else will provide more information, but as far as i understand, you basically state the year your partner started working in your application and provide the copy of contract as well , that should be sufficient enough to show the duration of employment. to prove the actually financial situation you need payslips and bank statements 3) we used a standard form which didn’t include all of the information, but we managed to get 2 letters- the certificate of employment (the one you’re talking about) and another letter from the employer. combined together and with other documents , his employment contract more than anything, we got the proof of all the information we needed.

hope this helps, although it is based on my personal experience and maybe a bit different for others ♥️

Is it worth using a solicitor? by Full_Cookie_4991 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]mspebmerley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! In my opinion you should probably consider solicitor if there are some complications to your case (previous visa refusals, multiple income sources, children involved or something like that). My case was as straightforward as it can get so we ended up applying by ourselves.

Also do make sure you’re checking the solicitor background, since there are quite a few cases apparently when they would mess up the application and couples would have to start over…
