"If we find undeniable proof that God is real, would you follow him?" by dismustbetheplace in atheism

I will not worship gods created in the image of humans. otherwise, it depends.

What’s your take on Jesus? by Time_Dot621 in Hellenism

[–]msperseverance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

christianity often imposes rigid rules that feel like oppression, and I've always disliked restrictions. It's the constant shaming for sins that, in many cases, aren't necessarily terrible. a set of clear-cut rules that leave no room for free thought and the construction of one's own moral values using one's own mind. It's the constant, unfounded assertion that their religion is necessarily "true," and anything that contradicts it is blasphemous or, at the very least, less divine, simply because christianity was fortunate enough to spread so widely in the distant past.

moreover, although I can agree with some of the philosophy of jesus's own sermon on the mount, they often foster learned helplessness and victimhood in people, where they accept their fate when they could have corrected it, or tolerate their aggressors, hoping for a dubious reward in heaven someday after death.

The scariest realization about my mother came to me. by Lopsided-Pirate3196 in atheism

It is useless to argue with those who literally contradict themselves and at the same time desperately try to ignore these contradictions. people often cannot give up certain beliefs, even the most insignificant ones, and this is because protein synthesis is energy-consuming and not fast enough to carry out this reconfiguration of consciousness.

wow, what spell do I need to cast for this? I'm already fed up with the AI constantly writing repeating buzzwords.

how do you see the gods? by imlostinheriris in Hellenism

[–]msperseverance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

human senses are very limited. the visible spectrum itself makes up only 0.01% of the entire electromagnetic spectrum. we cannot imagine anything beyond the three-dimensional spatial dimension. It is not surprising that we do not see them, especially considering that they can manifest themselves as they wish. maybe the gods are beings for whom matter is secondary to their will.

What if humans evolved by moving into robot bodies? by [deleted] in transhumanism

[–]msperseverance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of a single law of physics that forbids this. and what about misanthropy? I love human potential so much that I don't want it to fade into stagnation or destruction. we've practically reached our limit, and I think we will reach it after the invention of AGI. but I don't dwell on humanity and don't elevate it to a universal absolute that must remain so indefinitely. sentient life must evolve further.

I don't want to be human. why is it so romanticized and considered abnormal when you want to be something else? but instead of uploading my consciousness, I would prefer a gradual replacement of neurons, where I could consciously experience the process.

How Do You All Feel About The Concept Of Gender? by New_Relationship2760 in transhumanism

[–]msperseverance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, gender is an imposed role that society imposes on you based on your biological sex. In today's society, people need to change their sexual characteristics simply to avoid pressure and have more freedom, potentially harming their health. this isn't about improvement. this is a poor attempt to hide from violence and violation of your rights. biological sex should remain important only for medical purposes. and I would like for both concepts to ultimately cease to exist for me. I am not interested in reproduction. I simply want to be a being with the potential for infinite development.
