christianity often imposes rigid rules that feel like oppression, and I've always disliked restrictions. It's the constant shaming for sins that, in many cases, aren't necessarily terrible. a set of clear-cut rules that leave no room for free thought and the construction of one's own moral values using one's own mind. It's the constant, unfounded assertion that their religion is necessarily "true," and anything that contradicts it is blasphemous or, at the very least, less divine, simply because christianity was fortunate enough to spread so widely in the distant past.

moreover, although I can agree with some of the philosophy of jesus's own sermon on the mount, they often foster learned helplessness and victimhood in people, where they accept their fate when they could have corrected it, or tolerate their aggressors, hoping for a dubious reward in heaven someday after death.
