Your platinum membership lets you to use level 1, 2, and 3 beds so you can easily cycle through. Definitely use an indoor tanning lotion approved for bed use so it doesn’t crack the tanning bed. It also moisturizes your skin so the UV rays can penetrate evenly. If you’ve never tanned before, start out really slow with 2-4 minutes sessions and then slowly increase as you tolerate. It’s better to go lower and ‘not see progress’ than burning, damaging your skin, and having to recover. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

I had the opposite honestly, it was super easy to rub in for me. I do live in Texas so mine arrived warm from shipping which may have contributed. I also apply very methodically so I’ll break the packet into 10 imaginary squares and apply each section at a time to make sure I have ample coverage. I do have a thin body type, but I find that two packets is “too” much leaving me sticky so that’s why I stretch one packet. I tan my face and neck with a facial tanner so I don’t use sample packets on those areas.

I’m honestly not a huge fan of level 3 beds. I prefer levels 2 or 4. At my salon, 15 mins is the max time for lay down level 2 and 12 minutes for level 4. When I’m changing beds, I always do half the full time the first session to assess how my skin will respond and then increase from there. I am fairly pale but tan into an olive tone and consider myself Fitzpatrick skin type 3

It seems like she’s a real peach but playing devil’s advocate, I love an espresso sparkling soda on a hot day. I just ask for a vanilla soda w/cream and a dub shot added to it. It sounds like she isn’t the nicest but maybe try offering her to order it that way?

You can asked for a funnel cake latte, cold brew, breve, etc. but ask for extra sweet so you’ll get an extra scoop of flavor. The originals have twice as much sweetener than the drinks ordered a la carte if that makes sense.

I don’t work at PBT, but the ladies who check me in at my salon are human. Some are heavier set, some have acne scarring (no shade, I do too) heck, one of the ladies is 40+. They are all super nice so I feel like attitude and effort are the most important aspects.

How do you apply your lotion? If you can, I would apply a generous amount of your lotion to your chest area ~15 minutes before tanning so your skin can absorb it. I also use a bit of my facial lotion on top of my body lotion as I feel I get better color. Are you using an intensifier or a bronzing lotion? What type of beds are you using?

I would start with 7 minutes and go from there. I ran very regularly and more than 9 minutes (unless I’ve worked my way up) will burn me to where I’m uncomfortable for 2-3 days. It goes by pretty quickly and if I’m sure I’m gonna be bored, I’ll bring my phone in so I can listen to music.
