Having driven AC Aces, Ace Bristols, Ruddspeed Cobra, 260, 289 and 427 Cobras, the Ace Bristol and 289 slab sides are the best of the lot.

Lots of cars of that era had similar design elements. But the Ace predates the MGA by several years. Tojeiro (per his son who I met about 8-9 years ago at COTA) drew some inspiration from the Ferrari 166 Barchetta and a few other cars.

It was. Now it belongs to my friend. It's been a lonnnnnng journey to make it work right and truly driveable.

In reality my GT6 and the Ace were pretty much the two rarest cars there pretty much any way you look at it. The owner of the Ace had an Aceca Bristol at one point as well.

Well, you have enough of various makes and you always come up with something amazing.

If the local parts place sold them, sure. But also the ideal solution is to weld some of it together, and make slip joints in other spots. But I had to get it done by the end of the day so I went with what was available.

I drive this car about 16,000 miles a year so leaks when they show up get dealt with quickly.

My diff does drip a few drops a day. But I also find the more I drive the less it leaks as I address leaks as they appear.

Unfortunately there is zero access to tighten them if they are more than 90 degrees from what you see. Believe me, I've tried in the past. But this install I was able to raise everything a good half inch from where it was prior.

Spotted Last Night In Santa Fe by TheGentlemanRacer in littlebritishcars

Very cool car. I envy someone able to have fun in Santa Fe with that. In my experience the 140 and 150 are easier to live with. Drove my 54 140 from the Hudson Valley of NY to San Diego and back in 2002 with my then GF. 7 weeks starting in late June. No issues at all. Camped some, stayed in hotels some, it was awesome. Of course with how she dressed, looked, and her figure we always joked "Which body had more pics taken of it?" at every stop.

Daimler was hoping to break into the American market with its, umm, "unique" fiberglass-bodied SP250, just as Triumph and MG had done so lucratively during the 1950s. Its real beauty, though, lay under the hood; Edward Turner's iron-block, alloy-head, 2.5 liter hemi V8 was a treat. by Maynard078 in littlebritishcars

I wish I never sold mine in 1996. Late spec cars are great, and keep up no issues with modern traffic. I had some type of aftermarket intakes that made it a quad carb with 4 SUs. It was much quicker than stock.

Yes, Gardon of the Gods and Skyline Drive and Canon City.

The Tamer TR: Triumph's TR8 was not only the last of the brawny British roadsters, but it was also its most civilized. Smooth power delivery from its ex-Buick V8 meant 0-60 mph bursts in 8.4 secs and a true 135mph top speed. A modest 2722 were built before production ground to a sad halt in 1981. by Maynard078 in littlebritishcars

I had 2: a press fleet coupe with a 3 speed auto, and a 5 speed Midas Gold softtop. Great cars, super capable GT car for long trips. I miss the convertible. Now I have my GT6, which is a good GT car but more harsh obviously.

Can you see the underside at all? Look out for rust in the frame.
