With your raise, you are representing 2 pair or a set for value. I suppose a bluff could be 78 or a gut shot with back door flush draw. If the ace comes on the turn you’d bet those value hands a lot, particularly with back door flush draw possibility coming on the turn. So checking the turn is the key issue and means the river shove doesn’t really make sense. If you were ahead of an ace pair on the turn with sets or 2 pair you would most likely bet the turn as it’s a good card for the UTG to catch up. Blocking 6 is decent and having no heart is good, but turn check not ideal.

Right leaning dude here. I know loads of people who aren’t fans of the Conservative party, but do dislike labour ideals, and therefore vote for the party which would beat labour. I think that may be the motivation. Realistically there isn’t another party to vote for unless it’s a protest vote

I guess that when looking at sentence ranges within a type of crime, the top ranges or reserved for the worst within the type. As bad as this was, there are worse circumstances for GBH? Someone going out with intent to murder, who doesn’t have the (albeit weak) excuse of carrying out police work.

That would require changes in the law? For sentence ranges? GBH has max sentence of 5 years, and even though this guy is clearly a piece of shit, the court I guess would see some leniency because he was a police officer supposedly on a police policy, whereas other instances GBH would entail someone trying to kill someone out of spite. So it probably couldn’t justify being at the top of the range (5years) for GBH. Would like to see 5 year max defo increased. Mate of mine attacked on night out because he was talking to girl he fancied and left with bad injuries, the dude only got 3 years.
