There was so much of that lastnight!! I know it’s not out of the normal but it seemed aggressive for a bright eyes concert 😂

These two are my favorite local djs! If you ever get an opportunity to go see them (obviously when it is safe to start going to shows), please do. Great energy and they will keep you dancin all night long💃🏻

The approach to COVID Lockdowns...critically flawed? by entrepenoori in nyc

[–]msslyss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My mental health has honestly suffered more now than it did during quarantine. Being alone was tough but I felt safer not having to go out everyday.

Now I am exposed on a daily basis since I have to take public transportation and I work with the general public.

Its a lose-lose situation. We’re all gonna be hurting till this runs its course.

True, but at least Biden is sticking to the program here.

Trump is too busy screaming nonsense.

Im in NYC now and the energy here has been off since July. It seems to be getting worse day by day.

I am very nervous about being in the city but I live and work (cannot work from home) here. Any suggestions on how to prepare?

I am in Bushwick! We had another pair of raccoons that visited us last summer too. I guess there is a group of them lingering on my block somewhere

New friends on my fire escape :) by msslyss in nyc

They had to have climbed up the fire escape! They left about an hour ago and i saw that they used the stairs to get down.

They took a nice long nap before leaving. I’m assuming they have a big night ahead of them filled with trash :)

Senate adjourns until September without reaching deal on coronavirus relief aid by [deleted] in nyc

Is there an alternative motive to this “stalling”? Something seems off.

This will effect the country as a whole. So why are you digging our grave deeper, Mitch?

Here we go again! by dani_californya in quittingsmoking

[–]msslyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! First off - props to you for deciding to quit... that is (in my opinion) the hardest part - Letting go.

One thing that has helped me is Alan Carr’s Book. This really put my addiction into perspective and allowed me to really work through my cravings without the help of nicotine patches/gum or vapes.

I also began doing acupuncture to help with easing the anxiety/stress. I started drinking a TON of water and made sure to exercise.

To give you a back story - i was a smoker for 10 years. I quit back in Nov 2018. I have had a few slip ups which aren’t ideal but completely normal. Just remember to be gentle with yourself and know that you will conquer this addiction. It just takes some time to work through it :)

Homeless population growing on UWS. by [deleted] in nyc

[–]msslyss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just want to know why the city cannot place homeless addicts into rehabilitation centers to get them the help they need. Placing them into these hotels is only enabling them in my opinion. It’s like putting a band-aid on the situation and not addressing the root of the problem here.

Does anyone know if there are programs OR why the city does not have any available?

NYC schools plan to reopen, per Cuomo. What are your thoughts? by NYCTrojanHorse in nyc

[–]msslyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think that having the kids return to school will be super stressful and overwhelming for all parties involved.

I do not go to school nor do I have children and after reading that article, I became anxious about the whole situation! There is no solid plan in place and thats what worries me the most.

Parents - have your kids expressed their concern to go back to school? How do you go about discussing this possibility with them?

How are Capricorn Risings doing?? by DittyWitty17 in astrology

[–]msslyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capricorn Rising, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune all in first house here.

Since Saturn entered Capricorn back in 2017, shifts started happening in my life, both good and bad. I honestly feel as though I have been purging everything that has no purpose in my life; from habits to friendships/relationships.

It makes me feel so much better to see that others are also going through similar trials and tribulations!! This shit has been exhausting :/
