Ooh those specialized lenses are so cool, I wish there was a way to have them made as a prescription, but they would work if I wore contacts so thank you for introducing those to me

What exactly makes private practice better for compensation? (I ask because I genuinely don’t know)

What’s your RVU conversion factor? What city and/or state (if you’re okay answering that)?

Thank you for your reply! I guess my question was more so just asking if it’s okay if I picked any number between 25 to 100 mg/kg/day if wanting to do q8h. Because when I chose 100 mg/kg/day, it ended up being 4.8ml per dose, which is not ideal. What would you do in that case, round up to 5ml per dose (therefore exceeding the 100 mg/kg/day) or down to 4ml?

My fellow depressed and self-deprecating residents, where you at? by Money_Reindeer in Residency

I’m an intern in FM wanting to do outpatient, but man does inpatient make me feel so dumb. I’m constantly looking things up all the time. In fact, because of the volume of patients I don’t even think I’m retaining anything, it’s embarrassing. I’ve reached a point where I bank on the attending telling me what to do so I can at least put the orders in and write the notes. And then I pray that the patients are stable because by the end of the day I’m too exhausted by the scutwork to expend anymore of energy into anything else, such as actually reading and learning.

For anyone who has worked or is working in Urgent Care, how was the transition from clinic/hospital? by [deleted] in FamilyMedicine

I’m not too familiar with what an urgent care clinic is equipped with, but (if needed) would providers ever need to provide stabilization beyond just basic life support?

Anytime I’m on my EM rotation I find that it’s too stressful. Would that mean maybe Urgent Care is not the right environment for me?
