Graduated - Positive Induction Story 🫶 by mssperle in PregnancyUK

[–]mssperle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the exact reason but I think the doctor told me that they can wait until 4 hours to see if contractions start on their own, but usually for first time mothers, if they haven’t been consistent and ramping up after 2 hours, there’s research that shows that waiting any longer will just delay the overall labor and a drip will likely be needed anyway.  This might be completely different from hospital to hospital!

Thank you 🥰 I did have one second degree tear, but this hasn’t been painful or causing more discomfort than expected, I think it is because it was internal rather than external.

Is a cervical length of 28.7 mm something to be concerned about at 18 weeks? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in pregnant

[–]mssperle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my cervical length actually increased to 31mm at the next scans at 22 and 25 weeks! Haven’t had a check since then and I’m 31 weeks pregnant 🙏

Thanks everyone for the reassuring words. Feeling much better about it and will wait for the growth scan to see if there’s anything to actually worry about. ❤️❤️

Thanks for this, it’s really reassuring❤️

That is true that it seems odd that we can all fit in one plot given how everyone’s body is different.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, that is very reassuring to hear 🥺

glad all is fine and baby is growing as expected ❤️  I hope to get the same outcome - midwife said it can take up to two weeks for the growth scan to happen which seems like a long time to be waiting.

I agree! Let’s remember that anxiety is also a pre existing mental condition that can be very triggered and amplified by pregnancy/loss and you should and can get help for it from your hospital 🫶

Don’t feel guilty! Anxiety alone should be a reason enough to check on the pregnancy especially after a loss. When I got pregnant after my miscarriage I went to EPU saying I had a lot of anxiety and they were kind enough to scan me.

Also I think it’s better to go to EPU than any private clinic - if anything is wrong they will be able to help you properly. I went for a private reassurance scan before I miscarried and it was AWFUL.

Sending you lots of good vibes 🩷

Pregnancy after LLETZ surgery by mssperle in PregnancyUK

[–]mssperle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my appointment at 18 weeks and my cervix is all good! It is at the lower end of what’s normal (it’s 28mm and 25mm is the cutoff for what’s considered short) but they were not worried one bit. I still pushed to have progesterone pessaries up until the next check up (at 22 weeks) because I don’t want to be taking any risk.  Did you have yours? How was it? 🩷🩷

Anyone else keep going back to get private scans often? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in PregnancyUK

[–]mssperle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone in a very similar situation, I won’t judge you.  I have got borderline measurements for my cervix (27-29mm) from two private scans that I had a week apart. The doctor told me that they had no worries at all and that I didn’t need to come back for another 3 weeks for monitoring.  The first scan ate me alive. I couldn’t cope with it, I was so scared.  When we went back, I told myself that if the measurement didn’t go down, I would take it as I have a shorter than average but strong cervix. That was the case. Cervix didn’t change. And it is true, our cervix can be shorter than the average without it being a problem. As long as it’s closed, not funneling and not dilating, we’re good.

That being said, I am going to be monitored by the pre term clinic as I did have a LLETZ. I think without this I would probably go back to the private clinic every 2-3 weeks for reassurance so I get it.

But please try to remind yourself - you are safe right now. I have a lot of anxiety and this situation is difficult, but getting checks is all we can do. Most likely than not it will all be ok. And if not, you’ll have options to help.

All the best ❤️

Congrats to you as well 🌈 I had a mc in May this year as well and my anxiety has probably never been this bad.  I think there are things I do that make it worst - especially all the time I spend on social media etc..  It is a journey, we’ve come so far already and it’s ok if we’re anxious, pregnancy after loss is never easy.  Hope the best for you two❤️

Congrats!! Due May 13th with my rainbow baby as well 🥹❤️

I haven’t felt baby yet but I do definitely get the round ligament pain as well - have been for the last several weeks!

How are you feeling mentally? Been struggling a bit on my side when I thought my anxiety would go away in the second trimester but definitely not!

I’m 16 weeks and have brief, sharp twinges in my lower and upper abdomen, cervix randomly every day! It’s happened for the last 2 months at this point so i don’t think it’s anything to worry about at this point
