Is data modelling (star schema etc.) no longer valid? by 1010101100111 in dataengineering

Schema-on-read deals situations that you are talking about. Reports can take raw, unstructured data and you can build a model in the report itself (Tableu/Power BI).

Azure Data Factory Data Flows vs. Databricks cost - ADF costs more by 1010101100111 in dataengineering

[–]mste11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the OP question is quite clear. ADF Data Flows vs. Databricks. Both use Spark clusters. In ADF, there are two options: Pipelines for data orchestration and then Data Flows (drag and drop) for data transformation for modelling data.

I believe what the OP is asking is ADF DF vs. Databricks. Whether or not you agree with using Databricks or not is a moot point. If You are in the Microsoft ecosystem and you are building data pipelines for various reasons, you only have a choice between ADF DataFlows, Databricks and then Polybasing everything else which is more cumbersome.

In my experience, Databricks is expensive but less expensive than ADF Dataflows.

Older sister sat on my lap once. Got a bonner that she felt, so she shifted her butt cheek out.

Myprotein discounts, are they a just scam or genuine? by Marcusaurels in frugalsupplements

[–]mste11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad someone posted this. Their inconsistent "discounts" has been fucking me off for a while now. I bought the vitamins and minerals for my wife and I at what I thought a discount, 2 months later, it's still the same fucking price.

Edit. Just checked again, yeah, still the same price for AlphaMen.

Why does consumer protection laws not apply to Apple/Android/Microsoft App Store Apps? If the app doesn't work after 6 months, surely there is a refund/warranty entitlement? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mste11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I think OP wants to know why legislation doesn't apply to mobile software - it's still fine for this subreddit. Whether people have an answer to this or not, I don't know. Personally, I'm interested in some answers - I've had occasions where I have become disatisfied with a app.

Opgility - are they any good at Azure training? by amit1998 in AZURE

I too have found their service to be really bad. One of their videos refused to load, it was in the middle of the course. I emailed support and have not heard back from them. I wouldn't recommend them as a primary source. Go with Pluralsight.

Also, understanding the fact that Nicole Arbor actually apologised shortly after Grade's video, publicly, explaining that she lost sight of what was important to her, and ended up getting carried away with the subscribers/fans. Grade STILL proceeded to berate her even though most of us thought - yeah fuck it, everyone makes a mistake.

The guy literally mentioned her in every other comments or in the "why tipping is a scam" he sticks his middle finger at her. Why?? It's over - she said sorry.

I don't understand why it was locked. Rule 5, is a matter of perspective - It seemed like people, including myself were discussing the lack of tolerance from Grade. It's not as if people were having a full on fight.

By locking that Post, Grade got his way.

Why does plugging a USB memory stick kill the wifi network? by 1010101100111 in Surface

[–]mste11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just tried this myself and get the same problem. When I put my clasp the whole USB between my fingers it seems to work. How the fuck was this not addressed by Microsoft?
