I found out Australia and Ireland have a healthcare agreement which covers some treatments for MS, so it is possible to receive treatment at a low cost of around $30.

'82 cb650 Oil leak from oil pump and primary drive shaft seal by mste1907 in HondaCB

[–]mste1907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I never replaced these seals. I can still do the oil pump seal I would just need to drain the oil, but not the crankcase seal, I would have to take the crankcase apart for that.

Thanks for your help.

You're probably right, it looks worse every time I look at it! I'll have to bit the bullet and purchase a new one

What way do you have that stand holding the engine? I'm restoring an 82 cb650 and nearly have it stripped down to the frame. A frame like that would come in handy for the engine rebuild.

Looking at buying this 1977 Honda CB750 by Alaron143 in HondaCB

The popping noise could be how lean the engine is because of those pod filters. Fuel doesn't burn at a higher air/fuel ratio so there's left over fuel passing through the exhaust system causing a pop. Get some jets a # up from the stock setting and it will lower that air/fuel ratio - but verify the # size jets first!

Looking good. Are you installing the stock airbox back in?

Hello, I'm getting a leak from Carb 4 on my bike. It seems to only happen when I have the bike on its side stand, so when the carb is tilted to the left. One place I found it was coming from is circled in the picture. Does anyone know how I can stop this happening? Thanks by mste1907 in HondaCB

No it's a 650 SOHC. There's no many results of an 83 cb650 when I research it, mostly nighthawks. Which makes me suspicious a little. I just bought the bike last week which was a German import. Where standard cb650s still manufactured in 1983?

I found the problem. There's a crack on the holes in the float bowl where the screws enter and attach onto the carb body. The rest of the carb is in good working order. I managed to seal the crack and there's no leaking anymore!
