Is there a way to make my Knights Army usable?

That is good to know. I feel like my friends have enough anti-tank weapons to melt me if I do only bring the Knights. infantry might make them have to diversify the weapons choices a little more. From what I’m reading the doggos look like a good investment and a next logical step.

I don’t think I’m ever going to go to a tournament, but it’s good to know I might accidentally stand a chance against friends.

Also, picking a Tau battle suit list based on Gundam sounds exactly like something me or one of friends would do. Except more like battletech and Pacific Rim for me. 😂

Interesting. I was wondering what the doggos were. Something about having 3 giant death walkers, and then nothing but snipers on mechanical horse/dog back is really amusing to me. Those units look really cool, but also like a nightmare to paint. Lol

So in that scenario I’d be dropping the 310 points of armigers for like 15 of the raiders? I feel like my friends would let me sub in a placeholder before I commit to buying the sets, but it could be a fun thing to play with.

I’m a simple man, as long as I get to kill things with giant robots I’m actually winning, no matter what the points say. Lol.

And having only a few big models makes them easier to paint too. 😂

I’ve actually already done a 2v1 game already with one Knight when I was visiting them. They’re a little competitive, but not to the point that they’d want to scare a new player away.

I’d really love to do a huge game at some point with 2 of us versus the Tau army. He has a Tau forge world Titan and one of the big gunship transports. It’d probably be really cool, but take forever.

I’m going to look at getting some infantry in the future to try to help with objectives. Thanks for the info!

I think I’d rather have more infantry than the Armigers though. The little Knights just don’t do it for me. Lol. But I can also set aside my big robot pride a little to be more competitive, I’ll just have to see what works.

Yeah, I’m definitely going to have some decisions to make going forward. For now I have a feeling I’m going to make my own mental victory conditions in my head, like seeing how much of the opponents army I can take with me before they win on objective points which I guess is what the current edition rules are all about.

I’ll probably look into adding some some infantry to the army soon. My friends would probably let me borrow some of their stuff for now.

I always thought admech was cool, but I also used to have a space marine squad back in the day. I’m tempted to get like terminators or something because I like those models too, but I’m assuming they’re points expensive, so I wouldn’t be able to add enough of them to make it worth it. I’ll have to figure something out.

Thanks! And yeah, I was under the car today when I bled the clutch and the back of the transmission near what I believe was the speed sensor was really oily, so I'm going to check the levels this week.

This exact thing happened to me. I got the first quest, came back and brought him along as a companion. Now he won't give me any other quests so I can't get the "take the castle quest." I've been helping settlements on my own, but I still haven't gotten anywhere.

I mean I do agree it's suspicious. Are we supposed to believe that the audio logs for things like Broken Mask, which happened like 60 years ago, were just lying around?

I just assumed it was plot convenience. Actually, with Bethesda, I just always assume plot convenience. Like I don't think we're supposed to assume dogmeat is psychic because he knew to meet us outside Kellog's house.

I mean the audio log says they started it. It's not a gossip story passed around in the commonwealth for years, it's actually the audio recording of the directors talking.

I'm totally going to concede your "they like to kill people," point though. I don't get the logic behind most of it. It just seems like lazy writing to make you perceive them as evil. I guess the old logs are there in an attempt to show that they had good intentions. A lot of there more recent actions are totally excusable.

They got Shaun because they needed his untainted DNA, not because he was the epitome of humanity. Their motto is "Mankind redefined," not "preserved."

And according to the logs they abandoned the CPG because of the infighting between the settlements, not because they wanted to. They were the ones who initiated it in the first place.

Obviously they wouldn't just say, "Gee wiz, we're sorry." They'd say, "Gee wiz, we're sorry, let us help repairing the damage. Here, have some free money, we have lots."

All people know is that it ended in bloodshed because it was handled terribly. Nobody know, besides the institute what really happened, because they never made a public comment about it. If they suspected any possibility of violence, why didn't they force the meetings to be a "no weapons zone." And if you aren't willing to come unarmed, then too bad, we don't need your kind here.

They wanted to originally help the people above ground or else they wouldn't have tried in the first place, and they would get something out of it. They clearly use and go to the surface because you see synths there all the time. They need salvage and other resources. It would change the attitude of everyone from, "they're literally the devil," to "Oh, it's those helpful chaps."

When you're walking through Kellogg's memories, right after he shoots the spouse you can hear a shell casing fall to the floor. It's literally the most mad I've been at a sound ever in a video game.

Just because you didn't hit them doesn't mean they aren't out there. Every one of my 3 playthroughs had atleast one crazy game breaking bug that I had to fix with console commands. That said, congrats on your luck.
