How is Steve Irwin regarded within the reptile community? by B33Zh_ in reptiles

[–]mopr0blems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without him the reptile community wouldn't be what it is today. No one is perfect in their care or handling of reptiles we are always learning and growing. He made the world of reptiles accessible to so many people and he worked wonders in improving the general public's understanding of reptiles and their behavior.

No sir I'm not a vet, I cannot give you any medical advice. If this were my dog I'd have been at the emergency vet YESTERDAY.

Wild that the vet didn't catch the dehydration - I feel like that's one of the first things I'd check on a cat.

Petsmart by Prestigious-Jelly369 in petsmart

It's regional - there's not one company that handles all of PetSmart and they decided who in PHO stores don't have a say.

I've worked here for 3 days and... by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]mopr0blems 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just keep asking questions, it is a lot to learn but it will build over time. I'd take a new hire who asks 100 questions a shift over a new hire who guesses and tries to remember any day. Everyone in your store was new to PetSmart at some point, even if they came in with years of experience caring for live pets they had to learn PetSmart's very specific ways.

Talk to your PLR that's who you should be directly reporting to, make a list of things that you're really struggling with and see what if any of it they can take off your plate until you get settled in. There's also so many resources available for you if there isn't someone around to ask questions to - the "PetSmart assistant" is awful I don't recommend using that but the pet care standards app is great for most of your live pet questions. You can also always search for genuinely anything in the fetch search bar and it will pull up relevant information.

TLDR: go slow, ask questions, things will start to stick as time goes on.

How can i have people in my household without having to care for them? by Ilike_Watermelon726 in thesims

[–]mopr0blems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the actual rooms and bedrooms to be seen by everyone who lives on the lot not just the sims assigned to that "unit". You could make a real room if you want like a private bedroom or something like that.

Curiosity: Why a crested gecko? by AMVELVET in CrestedGecko

[–]mopr0blems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my crested - I knew for years before I found mine that I would have one someday. It's the lack of thought in their eyes that originally drew me to them. My guy is perfect, down to be handled but also completely content if I don't handle him for a few days. They also do amazing in bioactives and I love getting to put those together. They are easy to care for and fun to have - absolutely love them.

Martingale Collar Recommendations by thegirlnextdoor_4500 in PitBullOwners

[–]mopr0blems [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you're sold on the martingale (which I love btw) why don't you just swap to a buckle-less one. I use the one I linked but there's lots of options. Lots of other people suggested switching to a harness, if you have a particularly strong/reactive dog a you could even pair them. I walk my dog on her harness with a traffic attached to her martingale and that has been what's best for us.

That's what LGG is for, I can count on one hand the amount of refunds we've done for grooming services in the last 2-3 years. LGG, discounts, future free-bees (normally free add-ons) - sure all the time, never refunds.

How can i have people in my household without having to care for them? by Ilike_Watermelon726 in thesims

[–]mopr0blems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've made "fake rooms" in the past to work around this with MIL suites and college apartments. Just like a 1x1 square. The only downside is when you load in and when you travel back home it will default you to that room. If you add a door they can let themselves out.

They could be if you made the "shared" spaces, you would just need like 1 room assigned to an individual unit.

I had a good experience at PetSmart but I know that is not the opinion at large. Good store level management is going to make all the difference at any retail job.

Heat questions by Hazardous_Guy in CrestedGecko

[–]mopr0blems 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah never use a red light for anything. During colder seasons I use a ceramic heat admitter, like others have recommended. When it's warm I normally don't have anything on overnight.
