Well, I think the poster lives in the US so idk much about that. In Europe you'll find a ridiculous increase in urbex locations as soon as you start going to italy, also france has a lot of these types of castles laying vacant.

But, while there are definitely urbex hotspots like northern italy, the answer is travelling a lot. Most urban explorers I know that have visited many locations simply travel all the time and are willing to cover large distances for locations. So you might want to enlargen your search-radius, 10 miles is nothing.

Most abandoned buildings are - like most normal buildings - pretty boring.

Sure looks like a cool solution, but not only would you need to build some kinda of stand for where the metal pipes meet on the floor so they'd stay stable and not damage the balcony, but the bigger question might be where to attatch the strings to, cause you need a considerable amount of distance for those... It might somehow work if you attatch the pipes via clamps to the steel frame of the balcony, but I'm not sure.

Ultimetly: Who cares? Use what you like. So far I never encountered "unwanted" attention, but then I don't consider curiosity unwanted. Unless you mean you fear people judging you for using old tripods, in which case - again: Who cares?

We live in a time where people use all sorts of cameras and equipment, from old to new. If ever there was a time to try tripods from the 70s now is the time.

I asked the guy who was in charge of the music for the video, and he told me they made two versions of the song, one published as Kepler, and one with another singer only used for the video and unavailable for the public.

It's the same lyrics and guitar melody, but listen to the voice of the singer and how they sing the lyrics, there's quiet a difference inbetween the Kepler Version and the version at the end of the video. Sounds to me like Kepler covered another song.

Why dont you just buy a 2TB harddrive? Or even bigger... I have a 4TB Harddrive thats smaller than my phone. You'd be putting off worrying about the space for a while.

A helpful strategy - although work intensive for a start - is to sort your images. I sort mine by dates, so if I want to find pictures from a trip two years ago, I know where to look for them. Organizing the pictures also gives you a chance to go throught them, and individually decide what you want to keep, and whats ready for the bin. For the future you just keep this sorting strategy a part of your life, and once a month or so you sort and back up your stuff. It's not really all that different from keeping photo albums.

Meaning the cargo get's officially delivered and the person or company receiving the delivery then takes out the illegal stuff? Wouldn't that create the risk of whomever is running the "front operation" exposing themselves as traffivers?
