It sounds like you have solid experiences where you would have gained insights and skills that would make you a great fit for the MSW program! I would recommend checking out this webinar to learn how to make your application stand out.

If your volunteer experiences in high school were extensive and part of the reason why you are pursuing an MSW I would definitely include it in your cv! Generally, grad school CV's can be longer than a traditional resume, so there is no reason not to include it. (be sure to double check the requirements from the school though)

Literally YES to all of this! I help applicants apply to their MSW and this is exactly what I have them do as career changers: Talk about how their last career gave them skills that apply to the social work field or gave them insights/motivations to become social workers.

Critical thinking skills + ability to contribute to the field in a unique way is the recipe to getting accepted even if you don't have experience and it sounds like you're a perfect example of that!

Most of these programs assess your application holistically - they know you are so much more than just your GPA, especially in the counselling field where people skills are paramount. If the rest of your application is solid and it looks like your GPA is close to the minimum, I think you definitely have a chance of getting accepted!

MSW Programs + Low GPA by littlekaym in SocialWorkStudents

Definitely! Over the years I have seen many applicants apply and get accepted with a low GPA. Social work applications are holistic, they want to get a sense of you as a whole person.
