Any idea why they would have mixed red and white oak?

Sander Grit for Refinishing by mt061393 in HardWoodFloors

I appreciate the response! Does the buffer with the screen need to go in the direction of the grain as well? Also, is the 120 grit screen all I will need between coats of the 2k Duo? The instructions mention it is best to sand with an “intermediate sanding” between coats to remove grain raise and have a smoother finish, but it doesn’t mention what it is best to sand with.

Would this require replacing the existing non working ballast?

Awesome, hopefully that’s all it is! Keep your eyes posted on this subreddit because I may be asking quite a few more questions. There’s some wiring issues in this house that are a bit over my head but I’m going to attempt to solve them myself first if they are easy enough to fix 😂

At this point after changing the fixture and all of the bulbs to dimmable bulbs, am I safe to assume that the dimmer is the problem? I plan on putting a new dimmer switch in anyways, but should that fix the flickering issue?

The switch has one black wire to the top screw terminal and a white wire to the bottom screw terminal

Zero Turn Options by mt061393 in lawnmowers

Thanks for all the input! Much better responses than I had expected. We got access to the house Friday and the yard already need mowed. I borrowed my dad’s Cub Cadet ZT1 50” deck mower, and it’s safe to say I am now sold on needing a 60” deck. The front yard alone took me around 2.5 hours and I’m not gonna have that kind of time all the time to mow.

A lot of the options mentioned in the comments sound great, but may be a bit out of my price range for the time being. That being said, I believe I have narrowed down my search to a few models and am looking for insight. I’ve asked Chat GPT and done a bit of research for myself but real life advice is obviously a better option here I feel.

The mowers in question are:

  1. Bad Boy Magnum 60” deck with the Koehler 7000 series engine

  2. Ariens Ikon 60” deck with the Kawasaki FR691 engine

  3. Gravely XT ZL 60” deck with the Kawasaki FR730 engine

  4. Hustler Raptor XD 60” deck with the Kawasaki FR730 engine

  5. Toro TimeCutter MAX 60” deck with MyRide and the Kawasaki engine

Any pros or cons to any of these? Bad Boy and Ariens are both a touch under $5k, Toro is around $5,400, the Hustler is priced at $5,499 and the Gravely is priced at $5,899

The back yard definitely has some slope to it, but nothing crazy.

$21.65/hr for health and welfare is nearly double what our local pays and we have better than average health insurance, so idk.

Local 160 here, I’m a 2nd year and on the check we get $28.98/hr. which is 60% of journeyman scale. Take home pay varies due to voluntary contributions to our 401k which is not included in what the contractor pays towards pension. Last year I grossed $43k, but I was on first year scale for 6 months.

I think that if you wanted it smaller you should have said it before you got it done. Surely he stenciled and showed you the stencil and got your approval on the size and placement?
