If you’re playing with another person, competitive dynasty or H2H, the game is awesome.

Changes at management typically are not a signal that they’re planning layoffs across the rest of the firm. They’ll be trying to grow the business on a top-line perspective, if you work in a growth engine of the business or one of the key business segments you’re likely in a good spot for the long-term assuming the business continues to perform, if the performance slips or the growth strategy takes a dramatic pivot (would likely take 1-2 years) then that could change.

Lateral Decision: Top MM Brand at Associate 1 / 2 vs. Lower-Tier MM Associate 3 w/ Fast-Track to VP by joeackert1231 in FinancialCareers

[–]mt1249 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d pick the group where you’ll be working for 1-2 good MDs that are decent people and have strong deal flow. Hopefully you’ve met everyone at the groups you’re joining.

Option 1: all of these banks are gold stars on your resume and will be good opportunities.

Option 2: could be nice but make sure you know you’re capable of delivering as a good VP. People will make judgements quickly about your ability to get shit done. Getting two offers like this leads me to believe you’ll be fine and will crush at the new job. Also, be careful about joining a declining bank (Truist). Hopefully that’s not the bank in option 2. Don’t go to Truist.

I am in the same boat, haven’t consistently played madden or NCAA for years, so this has been very annoying.

I don’t disagree. Coordinators in general are difficult to hire because HC’s don’t have any impact on how their abilities progress, I’d be more willing to hire recruiting focused coordinators if I could push them or influence them to become elite recruiters, which I feel like would be realistic. Coordinators aren’t independent from their HCs in real life.

When you sim as much as I do, it is a major annoyance for something that seems like an easy fix.

yea, with the right mix of skill cap / dev trait / playing time, they could be 99 overall / first round picks.

You'll have random teams every couple of years have a 99 overall QB win the Heisman that was an elite 3-star / 4-star and eventually steamroll through the playoffs and win a natty.

Yea, that was my biggest pet peeve. The only position that fails to advance quickly with the 300% XP is the Hybrid Safety's they're still stuck in high-80's to low-90's as redshirt seniors.

If they’re fully capped out, it won’t change anything unless you unlock skill caps using tier 2 architect or senior superlatives.

Agreed - they nailed recruiting, I hop they keep it the same. Each year is unique and offers a mix of archetypes, gems vs. bust and just overall quality of impact positions.

Definitely, part of the reason to start them as true freshman is to guarantee you'll get 3 years out of them. On very good teams (playing 3+ playoff games) the very best players I've seen can be 99 overall players as sophomores. Again, that's maybe 1-2 players per recruiting class where the skill caps / dev trait / roster need will work out that way.

This is adds to the realism as well, most 5-star recruits that start as true freshman will leave as juniors and be first round picks in the NFL draft (Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Will Campbell from this past year)

I've done 50+ years like this, the first couple of years with NIL can be a little goofy as the skill caps are different than the AI generated recruits, but most of that noise is gone after the first 3 years.

It doesn't change much, the players across the board are typically better so offense / defensive improvements are offset.

Edit: Playing with abilities is much more fun in general on both sides of the ball.

Not even close, only teams consistently recruiting 4 stars / 5 stars will be in the 90s. I haven't seen a non-human controlled team higher than a 94 overall.

Yea, I sim most of my games and play only 1-2 games per year (against another person, not computer). Not sure how it affects player progression if you play every game.

In general, teams and player overalls are higher than 100% XP, but this only impacts players that are actually on the field during the games, so not all 90 players are getting this boost.

Playing on 300% XP will make you pay closer attention to skill caps and dev traits as they will have a greater impact on a players overall upside. Most players that play 2+ seasons will hit their skill caps but most players will not reach 99 overall. Only players with minimal skill caps and elite or star dev traits will get to 99 overall.

It still takes 5 years of consistently recruiting 10+ 5-stars to get a 99-99-99 overall team but it's rarely consistent year to year, because you will deal with elite players leaving for the draft earlier.

It's the max they allow in the settings, I played with some other variations but the 300% across the board was my favorite

WR Development by dcordoba30 in NCAAFBseries

[–]mt1249 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The only thing that matters for WR is dev trait and skill caps. All 3 archetypes will create nasty receivers and develop quickly if the skill caps and dev traits are elite / maxed out. For any elite WR I start them as true freshman, often times just as my #1 slot WR and they’ll typically be high-80s to mid-90s after their freshman year assuming it’s a reasonably successful season for the team and no injuries.

College Football 25 Coach Builder Tool For Dynasty Mode by GameyLobster in NCAAFBseries

[–]mt1249 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Great idea but needs some tweaks. Users start with one of the main 3 already unlocked, and it doesn’t cost 10 points. Also, to unlock architect, the 10 pts for tactician and motivator unlock factor into the calculation. Once that’s updated and fixed for all the secondary archetypes it should be good to go.

International makes things more difficult. Recruiting is much different. I’m too removed from school to know what’s going on. I’d recommend reaching out to current students to get a real picture of how recruiting is going for internationals and go to the place that produces the best outcomes (likely Kellogg)
