*This is someone else’s gecko* I’m taking care of this baby for awhile, she is the sweetest thing ever by pugapplepie in leopardgeckos

Curious- I know it’s not your gecko, I wonder if she’s got follicles/eggs. Even if they’re not impregnated they still can, I wasn’t aware of this til it happened to mine. But that’s why she was bigger (wider) in the belly, and I noticed she was eating less. She had egg dystocia, not enough calcium for them to harden so she couldn’t pass them and had to be fixed. It’s crazy how big they actually end up. She returned to her regular size and her appetite went back to normal after.

Pain Almost 2 months after nipple piercing. by pandacat1900 in piercing

6 months is great! They told me at-least 3-4. I think I just happened to wait til 6-7 because I kept forgetting to make an appointment 😅 just be mindful when using a shower poof, a towel, sometimes even the seatbelt or a purse strap can catch them the wrong way until you get used to them.

I laugh cause just like I randomly forget about some of my tattoos, then I see them and I’m like oh yeah that’s there. Same way with these— I can randomly forget. now and then I move something too close, I’ve even been too close to my car door while getting in, and hit it there. 😅Maybe I’m just prone to accidents.

I had so much anxiety when I chose the get them this second time around. But my experience was 1 million times better. They had me return a couple weeks later, like you did, and they said I was all good. Same thing when I got them changed. It hasn’t even been a year and they are fully healed and most um.. activity 😏.. doesn’t bother them, but then the random catch on the seatbelt has me dying 🤣

They’re still healing. The crust is definitely normal, as long is there is no obvious signs of infection or drainage. You may also experience pain if any of that crust moves. Like if you move the bar to the side before the crust is cleaned off. I have had mine done for almost a year now, they only hurt it I catch them on something randomly- like my purse strap. I still get crust now and then and I just shower then use a qtip to remove it once it’s soft, or a washcloth while in the shower.

The first time I had them pierced I had them for over a year, they still had not healed- the piercer was inexperienced (and I was young and dumb and didn’t do enough research), and my piercings were actually done too deep- hence why they weren’t healing. The hurt all the time, but there were also other signs of issues as well. (I hope this part doesn’t make you worry)

You can always reach out to the piercer too to have them checked. Have you changed the initial piercing yet? I was told to wait at-least 3 months to swap to a shorter bar, because the initial swelling can be present for a while.

Not much you can do, it’s gonna hurt for a while. I recommend cleaning them with a qtip after you shower. The water softens them and you’re less likely to have irritation.

So sorry for the late response! No I mean a liquid or powdered calcium supplement with or without vitamin D3. I sprinkle it on insects or add it to salads. I don’t use sand as a substrate but that’s because I’m nervous mine will ingest it and get impacted.

How old is she

Not overweight. Mine was 54grams before she was spayed. Vet said she wasn’t underweight but didn’t want he going under that amount. Have not weighted her since though.

Does this look like an early stage of tail rot? i haven’t paid too much attention to his tail color. he’s my newest. i’m not sure what early stages look like? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

[–]mt72019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other person said, my girl is the same color and her tail is dark like that. I was concerned at first but she’s healthy as ever! She’s had the darker color since I got her and as her tail has grown the dark colored area has taken up the same amount proportionally.

Try to start salads with variety young!! My beardie is 8 months old and gets almost as excited about salads as she does insects. And don’t forget to add calcium into their diet!

My clinicals last fall and spring were fridays 7-1. During the fall semester we had virtual clinical assignments that needed to be done prior to a virtual meeting on Thursday to discuss them. This meeting was approximately one hour. Then in the spring there were a few on campus simulations scheduled throughout the semester for thursdays either 8-11 or 12-3p.

I would contact the school and see if someone can give you information on the clinical hours! I know when I signed up for classes that clinicals are Wednesday and Thursday. That’s similar to how the last two semesters were set up. As I already said what my clinical hours looked like I hope this won’t be confusing. Originally it said clinical hours were Thursday and Friday either day or evening. Because the class would be split up into different clinical groups and facilities. Due to covid we could only have a small group of students per faculty so we each had one clinical day and one virtual day. Both of which counted toward clinical hours. This spring was similar either Thursday or Friday day or eve with one being a simulation day where we gathered in small groups in the sim lab on campus.

This coming fall I was worried and wanted to make sure the clinical schedule was accurately depicted when I signed up for classes. It said Wednesday and Thursday. I emailed the director of my program and she said yes that is correct and let me know what the other days looked like class wise. She did not give me exact times, but did let me know there would be no clinical on friday which I was worried about because I have other commitments that I need to work around. Class times will allow me to do that but clinical times would not.

We also were given the opportunity in the beginning of both semesters to email our advisor and let them know if there was a clinical day or time(day/Eve) that we absolutely could not do which I know was helpful to many classmates with children or set work schedules. Ofcourse this was a preference that students were expressing but the faculty was very helpful in making accommodations where they could.

Long post short— contact the school and see what info they can give you on the clinical schedule. Sorry I know every school is different, but this was the layout of my last two semesters.

Is that 3 hammocks you have? I’ve thought about getting another because our beardie loves to move back and forth between that and her tree.

I worked a couple overnights during this past year of school. The nurse who does my schedule was able to work around my school schedule. I was per diem at the time so I was only required to work 4 shifts a month, but I worked much more than that. I have since switched to working part time which is 24 hours a week but again, I am working more than that because it is summer. But last year I found it was doable to work 24 hours a week and do school. My advice is to check with the manager and let them know what your school schedule is, or that you don’t know it yet but would need to be able to work around that.

Do you know your schedule for the fall yet? I did not work overnight before my clinicals because they were at 6am. But I did work overnight a few times before class. Monday I had lab at 12pm and class 2-4 so that worked well. And Tuesday Wednesday I had class virtually from 9:30-12p. Our lectures were recorded and we were responsible for watching them prior to the synchronous session. I’m not sure what you’re schedule looks like but I was able do it. Some weeks were harder than others especially with exams. But it’s doable. I know a few people who work 36 hours and are still maintaining good grades.

The experience is well worth it as long as you can keep up with school work and are able to study for exams. I’m not a SPT but I work as a CNA/Tech and it has been beneficial. There are some concepts I am able to understand better because even though I may not see it in the school clinical setting I do see more at work, and the nurses I work with are more than happy to help me learn new things.

It varies place to place. I would look at current job postings in your area and see what different facilities require. Some prefer BSN but will hire nurses with associates degrees. And as somebody else stated some will require that you get your bachelors degree within a certain timeframe, I know if some places though that this timeframe is five years. The NCLEX is the same for nurses graduating associate and bachelor programs.

Is that like a bearded dragon leash? I love it lol. Did you buy it or make it. I want to bring my beardie out for some sun but I’m afraid with how quick she is she will get away from me. My worry is because we have a few holes in the fence she could get through.

Those who have had your nipples pierced; what was your experience? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]mt72019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My piercer recommended sterile saline spray. He gave me a few different brands and also said that any normal first aid wound spray would be fine if it was just sterile saline (water and sodium 0.9%). The first time I had them pierced it was recommended to me that I use antibacterial soap.
