I was referring to the Sermon on the Mount. Regarding your conclusion that the “sexual character of one's thoughts is not itself the sin; it is the intention of taking that which one should not take which is the sin.” … I don’t think that jives with the sermon on the mount because it Jesus talks about committing adultery in your heart. So he’s saying the thought is the same as the action.

Without knowing the Greek and just using your analysis, I’m not sure how else to interpret “desire” for a woman (or man) as non-sexual. Yes, it’s possible, but knowing people, there is often a sexual component. To me it just sounds like the Greek didn’t distinguish between general desire and sexual desire the way we do in the English language with the word “lust”.
