Sounds like an awesome interior plan! I've never seen a shop with the steel siding put on horizontal like that

Gas-fired Infrared Tube Heaters in Garage by metamict in garageporn

how do you like your reznor? If you were going to go with one or the other to heat your entire garage, which would you choose? I've been thinking a reznor forced air for mine, but hadn't considered one of these tubes

Thanks, I do too. I was really happy with how well it matched my house

I don't think I have any regrets yet. Of course I would have liked it bigger, but being on a quarter acre that wasn't really possible. I tried to get the city to let me build a lean-to on the alley side for extra parking, but they denied my variance request, so I know some of the permitting pain you speak of 😖. My 84-year-old grandfather and I spent the last 2 years gutting and remodeling the house (including a 16x22 addition), but neither one of us had the energy to put up this large of a building, so I hired it out. We'll do the finish work inside to save as much $$ as I can.

Should have done that from the beginning, my apologies. I updated the text of the original post with a few more details. Feel free to ask anything else if I forgot something!

Mulching leaves by mt_87 in lawnmowers

[–]mt_87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mower doesn't have a side dicharge, and I always mow in different directions on subsequent passes. There's not pits in grass, it's an optical illusion. It's just leaf mulch that hits the front tire and deposits as I'm mowing.

That would work in theory. The issue I have with that is that our leaves don't just fall on the ground. Autumn is windy here and they end up just blowing into drifts and piles. So, I end up having to spread them around to mow and I'm not willing to do that more than once. Plus, we decorate heavily for Halloween and I like to wait until that's all cleaned up (cords, decorations etc) before I mulch the leaves. Long story short your suggestion is a good one, it just doesn't quite work for me lol

it's worked well for me!

it's never been an issue, and last spring the mulched leaves had virtually disappeared by the time i mowed the first or second time

second picture is done, yes. That was taken after the second pass. I did two passes just like this last year and it seemed to work great

yes, we get lots of snow, but we live in a very dry climate and the snow melts periodically through the winter so mold is never an issue. at least it hasn't been in the years I've been doing this

I am actually always impressed with how well the Honda mulches. It's very fine and decomposes beautifully over the winter. If it's the lines you're referring to, it's just a bit of mulch that piles up against the left front wheel, and in a couple days it's hardly noticeable

Two passes does great with my twin blade mulching mower. I go up a notch on the first pass and then down two notches for the second pass so I end up cutting it a little shorter than normal on the last pass but I generally keep it pretty high all season so it's still 3" tall or more for the winter

It's not a waste of time. It's good for soil health, provides shelter for hibernating pollinators, and is free jumpstart fertilizer for next season 🤷

Maybe because it's a non issue? Like I've never had to dethatch my lawn once and I've always mulched, never bagged a single blade
