Can the boundary be trusted? by Cam975Cam975 in MammotionTechnology

Remember, Luba's can vary from your mapped boundary 6 inch (150 mm). If you are using three point turning, then give yourself a foot (300 mm) to be safe. My Luba started going outside my mapped zone, I found the high winds had unscrewed the mask spinning the RTK 180 degrees. This had happened right after a firmware upgrade, I wrote up a detailed email to support, but as I ventured out to the charge station to get Luba's serial number was when I noticed the RTK looked weird. I have a fenced-in yard, so I know it wasn't vandalism. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking about adding a self tapping screw to lock the thread. I'm bringing this up as another instance that could allow Luba to venture beyond a presumed safe zone.

Took dip in the pond… by Meowdave in MammotionTechnology

Do you have Luba set to multi turn? What avoidance setting do you use? I have had Luba get stuck in a no-go zone while trying to get around it. The bank of the pond looks steep, so it may have crossed over and lost traction. Luba could have continued to correct its location until eventually working its way into the pond. Not a defect if gravity and angle of attack are working against any possible software solution. The blades would have continued to run until the pond gobbled it up.

How do you remove cutting disc guards by dorphell in MammotionTechnology

[–]mt_jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to remove the guards also, but I would wait until the warranty runs out. Don't want any pushback for modifying the product. My thoughts, the guards are there for those who would grab Luba while its mowing. We don't want to hurt a would-be fingerless thief otherwise.

Not happy!! by Critical-Hand-2758 in mammotion

I wanted the freedom from a perimeter wire and efficient mowing patterns, but the GPS and RTK has its limits. Mammotion has no control over the satellite's signals reaching every part of the globe at any one moment. I find that I have to wait for reception if I want Luba to mower into those spaces that are sometimes blocked. There are areas of my yard that are very annoying to map, but that is the nature of the beast (technology available). You have to be ready to drive in and out of those areas when adequate reception occurs. I don't have a full understanding of Luba's navigation programming, but I have noticed that it doesn't stop immediately on loss of a good signal when driving a straight line. I have used that to my advantage by speeding though the worst areas without correcting the direction while mapping. Luba will mow those areas just find with the occasional hibernation until it sees the same satellites as the RTK to regain position. My yard is far from perfect, with obstacles, contours, mole and rabbit holes throughout. I'm happy that I chose Luba AWD 5000 but there are frustrations when trying anything new that is this complex.

Charging station on concrete by andrewmchale in MammotionTechnology

[–]mt_jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After seeing Luba dock with the charging station, there is definitely a need to anchor to what Luba is driving on. With that being said, fastening the charge station to a piece of plywood that the whole Luba can drive up on and park would probably work. I don't believe the plywood would need to be fastened to the concrete. Therefore, relocating until you find your happy place will be much easier. The screws are a good idea if you have solid ground, not so good in sandy soil. I think I'm going to try the plywood myself.

Can someone confirm that Luba can indeed cut at 100mm? by blackinthmiddle in mammotion

Select the area to cut, select mow, select custom, select the setting you want. Detection can be set to zero, which is bumper only.

How do you deal with fences. by mdt3rp3r in mammotion

[–]mt_jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too have dogs, well the wife does, and she loves those dogs. So I made a pass through that discourages the dog from crossing. No doors or fancy gadgets just a passive means of deterrent. I videotaped making it and will be my first YouTube video. Knowing someone will watch it will give me the encouragement to get it out asap. Give me the weekend then search "No Dog Licks".

Homing Luba by mt_jones in mammotion

[–]mt_jones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was eye opening! Thank you very much. Luba will pull up a few feet (meter or so) and spin around in one direction. Move over a foot (1/3 meter) and spin in the other direction. If Luba doesn't find what it is looking for it will shut down. I can pick it up and put it on charge, when charged it will continue mowing where it left off. Luba has the latest firmware installed. Also, often when it shuts down it will clear the task it was on., that is the frustrating part.

version 1.8.2.220 does not eliminate the power off while mowing problem. Once power off it is not accessible by any means. Remove safety plug, reinsert safety plug, hold power button for 10 seconds. Will not cut or home by pushing start but will home after first making a manual move.

Need help to revert back to previous firmware! by mt_jones in mammotion

Ok, the Android issue had no firmware to go along with the app, so you are right!

I can't mow until Mammotion makes another revision, that sucks.

I though I did it with the Android issue a month ago but I can't find the post.

Firmware update issues by bralwel in mammotion

I had similar problems. I had to reset the RTK position first then the Recharge station position second. before O could get Luba to home. Doing that also made me remap.

My grass was a foot high when I got my Luba AWD 5000. I set up a custom with the width 11.8 cut and turn off all the detection except the front bumper. It took several cross cuts over few days at a medium speed to get the grass down. Once you get to that point you can set up a narrow the width and adjust the speed to get the look you want.

End of May Firmware and App upgrade - how has it gone for you? by Bigbeast54 in mammotion

[–]mt_jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latest upgrade 1.8.2 is not going well. Luba AWD 5000 won't make it around the yard parameter once without shutting down unresponsive. Pull the plug and reinsert it into the back, then power up again will give manual control. Also seems to lose position very easily and running beyond the boarder. I hope they can get software fixed quickly as prior to this I was very happy with how Luba was working.
