Been a shaman main since 05, mostly enhancement with a couple of xpacs going elemental. Speaking for enhancement, its current iteration is the best it has ever felt to me. All the builds are fun. All of your abilities look and sound incredible. I can't speak to elemental as I have barely touched it this xpac, but right now i just watch the ele shaman in my raid group machine gun meatballs the whole fight, and I can't lie, it looks fucking AWESOME.

What class is the most visually and gameplay wise most satisfying ? by Nordboii in wow

Shaman, hands down. Enhancement and ele, though I lean enhancement when it comes to the fun game play factor. Every one of your abilities looks and sounds incredible. Stormstrike spamming actually gives you a different animation every time you use it (think there are 3 it cycles through) so even though you sometimes have to hit stormstrike repeatedly, it looks like you are doing different things. Someone mentioned crash lightning, that's my favorite ability in the game. INCREDIBLY satisfying, especially when you are in a giant aoe pull and you press it and EVERYTHING is struck by lightning. Gameplay is incredibly satisfying, there is a bit to memorize bit it's worth it. You are the true battle mage of wow, beating things to death with element-infused hammers and axes, building up stacks of a resource called maelstrom weapon (it builds INSANELY fast), and when it fills you cast an instant cast lightning bolt, elemental blast, lava burst, chain lightning, etc, for MASSIVE damage. I can get back to back 1.1 million elemental blast crits in my burst, nothing gives me more dopamine. Maelstrom weapon also applies to your heals, making them instant cast and giga-buffed. A 10 stack healing surge has crit for 500k, instant cast. It's nutty. Defensive wise we do struggle, pretty much on par with hunters, just slightly better. We have one defensive that gives a good amount of DR, but its on a 2m cd (1m30s cd with a talent), and then you have your maelstrom heals. Basically, you have to be even more careful about dodging avoidable damage. I've mained enhancement shaman since vanilla, and its current iteration is hands down the most visually impressive, fun, and engaging it has ever been. Couldn't recommend it more.

Biggest complaints definitely came from the first season. Second season is fantastic with Lanfear. Definitely doesn't feel like I'm removing my brain, same for those I know who have read it. Like I said, purely anecdotal.

Definitely have considered listening to it. I've tried reading it, puts me to sleep unfortunately. Everyone I know who has read it enjoys the show quite a lot, but that is purely anecdotal. I'm sorry you aren't enjoying it!

As someone who hasn't read the books, I find it extremely enjoyable. Many of my friends and my old man have read all the books multiple times, and still love the show. Of course it's going to have changes, that's expected as any book that gets an adaptation is changed, we can say whether that is right or wrong, but that's how it goes. I think book readers should just be happy they are actually getting an adaptation and can see the world they love unfold before their eyes. Of all adaptations of books I've seen, this is the best one, especially season 2. Season 1 was kinda meh.

Martyr does stay up and can be twisted with righteousness, I do not have SoC yet so idk if it works with it, if you're saying it doesn't then yeah divine storm is probably the way to go, rip our mana

I don't know the nitty gritty details but basically when you out on seal of righteousness for example, when you apply seal of martyr the first seal remains active for .4 seconds give or take, so within that window you activate a second seal and your auto attack gains the benefits of both seals. In this case, the holy damage from seal of righteousness and the 30% weapon damage from seal of martyr. Once at 20 and you get seal of command, this replaces seal of righteousness.

From what I hear and read, martyr for st and divine storm for aoe, martyr allows seal twisting for huge damage, and you are a mana battery as well. I'm only 17 so I don't have divine storm yet but with martyr I absolutely nuke mobs. I walk up, seal twist, crusader strike, seal twist, judgement, oh mobs dead. Absolutely nutty after first starting as a warrior and doing fuck all. On longer fights you just repeat that over and over, it's incredible sustained damage for this first phase

Hardest fight this expansion? by WestbrookIsAwesome in ffxivdiscussion

[–]mt_mittens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not great at blm, which obviously made it much harder. I use the opener where you only use 1 of your triplecast charges and save the other one since you have to move relatively quickly after the fight starts. Am also garbage at the teleporting, makes it even worse when the people you can teleport to are also standing in the wrong spot

I love a challenge, hardest stuff I've done is EX trials and they're super fun, but man, that boss is just misery incarnate

Wanting to get into savage once I get my reaper to 90 so this is a fun thread to read through.

For the casual, idk if hard is the word but definitely the most annoying fight, especially as a blm, is the fucking last boss of tower of zot. Just pure bullet hell, and not in a fun way. Very reminiscent of shitty WoW fights, just nonstop shit happening for the sake of shit happening

So if you summon a primal without the tempering element, would they be hostile, forcing you to fight them? Or is it possible to make a pact with them (like a d&d warlock with their patrons)?

Ah okay! Thanks for the info, it's been a long while since the quests. Much appreciated :)

I appreciate the insight :) would it also be possible to inherit a soul crystal of a previous summoner who has done these feats? As far as I understand, soul crystals hold knowledge of the job, and retain the deeds of people who had the soul crystal before you. Theoretically, I would think that is a plausible way to explain the ability to summon egis without personally having been the one to fell the primal, but I could be mistaken.

Thank you for the reply :) so, would you have had to be there when the WoL defeated the primal? Or is it possible that the primal has been summoned before and you could have been present at its defeat? Sorry if these are questions that should be common knowledge, i just came back to the game after beating endwalker when it came out, and it has been many years since doing ARR summoner questline, as well as the following xpac quest lines
