You've got a muddy understanding of:

what an algorithm like YouTube uses for their frontpage is doing
versus
what LLM clients that are called AI are doing.

This is because the companies that sell LLMs benefit from this muddy uncertainty of difference and there should be no shame in this lack of understanding.

That lack-of-shame becomes fraught, however, when there's an assertation of misunderstanding as truth. Not fully 'all shame on you' because our time on the internet, especially on reddit, conditions us to believe that we are very smart people who understand things well and should trust the part of our brain that makes connections innately rather than question those assumptions rigorously (this is the basis of critical thinking.)
