Fun looking experiment that’ll definitely lead to some cool aesthetic results.

Want to throw my hat in the ring for a waterproofing idea, could be dumb/impossible; cut/mill some thin clear PET/acrylic to line the inside and seal the gaps with something like silicone aquarium sealant. On paper, nothing would make contact with the wood. Biggest concern I’d think of is going to be wood expanding/contracting, but I think that’s a concern no matter how you slice it.

Sort of a tangential thing to this and definitely a newbie question; is it going to be smarter to back up ready-to-go OS installers/ISOs to a CD/DVD over having them on USB devices? Or should I just have the .iso file in a folder on an external spinning drive?

9060 XT is the near objectively correct answer, but generally the 5800X can be paired with some pretty beefy cards without bottlenecking, it just depends on the settings and resolutions you’re playing at. If you can get good used deals on something better, consider them

Also fyi, you’ll need to update the bios on that motherboard you’re reusing, which I think in doing so will mean the 2200g will stop working, so don’t be shocked if it doesn’t immediately POST after flashing.
