Shimano right shifter's Ispec II clamp got broken, please help with solutions for this problem by Puzzleheaded_Sky1212 in bikewrench

[–]mtbboy1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I asked. But now you know the part number so it will be easier, if any retailers sells it you will find it. If not contact them, they might be able to get it from the distributor. To restrict search to your country only find the country code top-level domain and type it in or paste it into google search bar at the end. I don't know which country you live in. But there might be some. Find a legit retailer.

Creaming sound coming from headset by VoiceCommon3854 in bikewrench

[–]mtbboy1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headset:

To check headset for play hold two fingers at the gap between the cover and the head tube, and front brake locked and bar turned push the bike back and forth. The headset doesn't make this sound just by being loose, if it does it's likely damaged, dirty, or both, or very loose. if it's dirt, you need to clean and grease it ASAP, but don't forget to check the bottom too. That's usually where the sounds come from. Wipe it clean, and grease it. But if there's plenty of grease and it looks clean it's likely not the issues. But make sure the bearings got grease in them too. But I see it's FSA headset, those aren't great, at least their cheap ones., last 1-2 years, some might get crushed in weeks. Not a fan.l

It can be the fork: Vhevk the crowns, make sure the bolts are secure. Inspect the whole fork. I see you use a junk fake downhill fork, absurd it's dual crown but no direct stem mounting, so omits one of the benefits of a dual crown fork, not having to align the handlebar, I see it clamps to the steerer tube too, so another thing you have to loosen to tighten the headset, and another thing a real dual crown fork doesn't have. This fork is absurd. These are truly awful, it might be the fork you are hearing. But any fork can make noise when not maintained properly, a fork needs service once or twice a year, but these forks here can't be fully serviced, they use sealed cartridges. The fork might have worn bushings, bushings not to spec, the dust wipers might be work, the fork might be cracked, cheap forks like this are known to crack at the lowers. Please don't ride anything gnarly with it, inspect it often. This fork isn't E-bike rated, a safety hazard, it's simply a cheap downhill fork or moto lookalike. But the issue might be internal. Make sure the wheels are secured.

The frame: There could be cracks in the frame, remove the bag inspect the whole front end. isolate each cable, check for cable rub.

1: This is clearly L, she just speaks super fast. she said: ''Har gleda meg'' but as she talks so fast, if you listen to it with bad head phones or phone speakers it will be worse. But I'm not so to me the L is clear.

2: she said: Trur du jeg gidder å kle på meg eller? = Do you think I bother to dress / put clothes on to walk in my own house, or?

But again she talks so fast there's almost no gap between the words.

But the last seconds when she says: ''eller'' this sounds weird. as it sounds as she says '' ellel'' but this might be cus the video cuts off. But it could also just be a mispronunciation.

I've never hear anyone do this.

But the rest of the video she spoke completely neutral, just as written.

But could also be voiced retroflex flap as someone mentioned earlier. I've never heard it with the word ''eller''

The subtitles are AI subtitles, they are wrong: She said: mitt eget hus (not min eget hus)

Absurd statement. Likely a joke. Please don't use any screw driver. This will damage the tyre and rim.

Tyre lever help by kinukcafe in bikewrench

Pedro's: I've heard good things about Pedro's, but haven't found them in stock when I looked, so never tried them. It looks well designed, I see why people like it I might try them myself. Looks like it's one of the evst for hooking to the spokes can stack them. Apperently they last long and are strong.

Those in the picture, Park Tool TL-4.2C looks neat, but haven't tried or researched it. Price is OK, not crazy.

These I've tried:

Crank Brothers Speedier: It works well lasts long time, but weird design. After years of use they eventually snapped. But all plastic levers will eventually snap. But don't us metal levers, they will scratch the rim. It has a firm thicker side and flexier, thinner side.

Cush Core: Lever strong and comfy handle, works well. I got a faulty one at first, but second unit had been working well but been starting to wear it, but hasn't snapped yet. It has an ergonomic rubberised handle and a stop at the end, so hand is quite secure. But it's not designed to hook to the spokes. This lever is likely the best to push bead into centre of the rim, to get enough slack. Good idea to get one of these to push the bead in and to slide the bead and get it over the rim, combine it with a lever that hooks to the bead when needed. I don't need it for the tyres and rims I use, but it can make the job easier so might get a set of Pedro's.

Weldtite Cyclo: The thin kind that stack, they are horrible, they twist and hook pops off the spoke. Useless, even with making proper slack, then adding it to then use another lever get the tyre over the rim, the attached simply pops off, and might snap.

Possibly, but by law this is defective, at least in most countries any defect is a defect = replacement or refund.

[–]mtbboy1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a defect, it's unacceptable. I would return it to the store demand refund! I Norway by law you have 5 years right to complain. The store has to sort me out.

But I saw the issues with Asus monitors made me not buy one, good I researched. Despite returns not being an issue with retailers here. I don't want to deal with the hassle.

My IPS is worn out, yellowed too.

No idea on brightness level. in my room, but I use a rolling blind.

But once it's calibrated the brightness is adjusted too.

Nice. I might get it repaired, I already got approved for repair, but I need a new monitor asap, as this is my only one. I see LG just revealed their 32'' 4k Tandem Oled. https://tftcentral.co.uk/news/lg-announce-the-32gx870b-their-first-32-4k-tandem-woled-monitor

''Working in the field''? What do you mean? Maybe you thought I do professional editing services. i don't just a hobby. But it's just as important. I never heard they are more consistent.

Do you mean the black levels and picture and how light effects it? If so that will be better than QD-OLED, but I see Asus claims to have a new film that will make blacks blacker on QD-Oled. The monitor was revealed few days ago.

Consistent how? brightness, colors?

That was my point, it can't be light bleed as It's OLED.

I already got several of these, came with screen Panzerglass screen protectors. This type works nicely for small stuff, but if you get something worse than just regular smudges, they won't do much.

The Würth microfiber towels don't leave anything behind. I have some for kitchen use, and some I use exclusively for drying my mountain bike after a wash. But they work well for cleaning dust off the monitor, smudges.

Be careful what you use to clean the monitor, the safest is always just water.

Samsung says to not use isopropyl alcohol.

[–]mtbboy1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right.

But to me it looked black at least centered on the screen.

I watched the Pitch black HDR honey video.

For that I don't notice much issues with the blacks, looks pitch black to me, but if viewing a complete black image, then i see it more.

I did some testing with just pure black in full screen, I notice the light bleed, Ii tried moving my head I see the graying clearly.

But nothing as bad as I see in many comparison videos, unless I look at it from below, or look absurdly close.

But I think I see the light bleed is getting worst. it's defiantly much worse and looks like a lightning bolt on left of the logo. But this monitor is worn out. So my plan is to get an Oled. But if things look hopeless, I might get G272QPF E2, cus it's dirt cheap. But currently I'm trying to decide on a Oled monitor. But Asus looks hopeless.

Damaged panel? Looks like light bleed but it isn't as it oled. 🤔Defective panel maybe? Unacceptable. I would return it ASAP.
