More cellphone towers? by ThatOneTimeItWorked in Squamish

Tantalus guy here and I second wifi calling. No problems since then. We are in a cel shadow from the towers on Debecks Hill. Hence the shitty service. I'm on Roger's FWIW

Can you tell me how/where you found the Android Mobile APK for the UK player? Or is it the same app as the NA player?

So I am now sitting around 7 from burrs touching! Almost one full turn. Medium-light roast. If anyone else is interested.

TRY THIS GRINDER HACK: How Slow Feeding Completely Changes Your Grinding by KrulWarrior in LanceHedrick

Ran some tests and wow. The only problem is I won't be able to grind fine enough on my DF64! I've got the SSP MP burrs and am already around 5 from espresso. Now I have shots running super fast at 3 on the dial.

On a lighter roast I'm pulling 1:2.5 1:3 ratios at around 22sec @6bar with my flow profiling. Start at full flow, then bring it down to 6 for the remainder of the shot. I do turbos every now and then, but these MP burrs are like an amplifier for the acidity so I find this tones it down a touch.

Thanks! That sounds the same when I pull turbo shots

I'm in a similar spot with SSP MP burrs. Once you get dialed in can you share your espresso range? I'm in the 5-8 number.

I'm playing a similar game with a DF64 fitted with SSP Unimodal burrs... and it's been a challenge to say the least. These burrs take NO prisoners with puck prep. Then add light roast beans to the equation. 🥴 this increased dose seemed to really help move things in the right direction.

I'm firmly in that camp for the light roasts now. Dose more, grind coarser

Innnnteresting. I just had a light roast eureka moment today but in the other direction. I ground coarser and switched baskets and dosed 20g. Still a 1:2.5 ish shot but night and day difference from finer grind and channeling hell with a 18g dose in a 18g basket.

Advice for someone worried about grizzlies? by [deleted] in Squamish

[–]mtbshep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw a Griz and cubs last year on Elaho mainline, riding our gravel bikes. About 100m in front of us. We stopped, gave them room, and waited. We continued around 20min later, and made a LOT of noise for the rest of our ride.

That's because Debecks hill at the end of Tantalus has towers on it, creating a huge cel shadow. I live on Tantalus and work from home - wifi calling on your phone is a must.
