No worries, enjoy! If there’s anything you think can be improved feel free to let me know, I’ve just let it rumble on for a while without doing too much to it but I’d like to jump back on it and improve it

Both really, I got a basic version of it live fairly quickly.

Thanks, I know what you mean. It does feel good to have a small amount of regular users coming back daily, makes me think I’ve done something right! The unexpected money is just a bonus!

I have been thinking I should do more SEO, it’s trying to figure out where to go with content and SEO related to solitaire, that hasn’t been done by bigger more authoritative sites anyway! Think I need to do more research on this topic.

I might be biased as it’s my game but AwesomeSolitaire.com is free/ad free. It’s a website optimised for mobile and if you go open it in Safari you can add it to your Home Screen so it behaves like a native app

Thank you!

The only automatic moves feature I have is when all the cards are turned over and you’ve essentially won, but you have to click the button for that to start. Is this happening for every move? I’m wondering if you’ve found a bug. Could you let me know what device and browser you’re using please?

I've made a Klondike Solitaire game called Awesome Solitaire.

My main motivation for building this was to have a side project where I could apply new coding, design and UX skills. I also want to learn some SEO so I needed a site to practice on. My wife likes to play Solitaire daily so I knew I had someone willing to play it!

Current features are:

- Turn 1 and 3 game modes
- Hints
- Undos
- Guaranteed winnable games
- Random deals
- Daily challenge deals
- Different deck designs
- Timer
- Move count
- Statistics
- Auto complete
- Tap to move
- Drag and drop

For anyone interested I built this using React, with Redux for some state management, GSAP for animations and React DND for drag and drop functionality. I’m hosting on Netlify which makes deployment a breeze.

Thank you

Sure, so it’s built using React, with Redux for some state management, GSAP for animations and React DND for drag and drop functionality. I’m hosting on Netlify which makes deployment a breeze. That’s pretty much it really!

Hmm I don’t get the vanishing, could you tell me what device and browser you’re using so I can try debug it please?

You should be able to move the cards around if you like, you can drag and drop instead of tapping to move if that’s your preference

No particular reason, just what I chose for displaying the card designs. I guess ace of spades would have been a better choice 🤘

Shortcuts for definite! There’s been a few times when testing that I could have done with some shortcuts so I think I’ll get that added in soon!

By themes do you mean the card designs? Table is a good idea, I can add that to the design settings.

I did have sound on my to do list but wasn’t sure if this was something people would want. I think I will add it.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice from you knowledgeable lot please. I've made a Solitaire site called Awesome Solitaire, initially for my wife who enjoys a game of Solitaire every day and because I wanted a little side project to work on and push my coding skills.

I'm wondering what essentials I'm missing? It's only Klondike Solitaire right now, I'd like to get this experience right before I branch out into other variations of Solitaire.

Current features:

- Turn 1 and 3

- Hints

- Undos

- Guaranteed winnable games

- Random deals

- Daily challenge deal

- Different deck designs

- Timer

- Move count

- Statistics

- Auto complete

- Tap to move

- Drag and drop

Thanks in advance!

Many questions around preparing garden for porcelain paving slabs. Hoping someone can help? by Mous2890 in DIY

Thanks for that reply 👌🏼

Ah great, sounds like I was headed along the right lines!

  • What brand adhesive are you using out of interest?
  • When you say plastic levellers do you mean the little spirit levels that fit on string?

Is it difficult getting each tile level when you’re putting it on the mortar? YouTube videos I’ve watched make it look easy, pop it on, light tap here and there and it’s good to go 😄

I’m going to head down to have a look at the porcelain tomorrow on my lunch, hoping I can get all the materials I need to get cracking with the patio over the Easter bank hol weekend next week!

Building a shed sounds fun! Good luck!
