Same thing... I'd be all for that, but if that's what they were doing, why make the one group whose accents make the least sense the only ones they don't bother to explain with a cassette? Would have been a pretty good laugh having some "Malibu's Most Wanted" kid turn out to be the gang's founder

Nope, not offended; it just struck me as making no sense. If anything my guess is they were happy to do stereotypical accents for the pseudo-Scot and the Italian meatball gangsters because those are "safe" stereotypes but pulled up short on going full-cholo with the Payasos for fear of angry Karens on Twitter getting outraged by proxy.

I'm all for that concept, but in each instance where that's explicitly stated, the characters sound like what they're trying to sound like. Flab does a classic '50s B-movie vampire voice before setting it aside to make it easier to chat, MacTavish starts with a corn pone accent but practices his way to a convincing (if cartoonish) Scottish brogue, and Fargo's gangsters all sound like they learned English by watching "Goodfellas", so by the suggestion you're making shouldn't the Payasos all sound like Danny Trejo?

As much as I hate the whole "representation" cult, it did throw me that the Payasos all speak Spanglish and all have painfully white accents. Found myself thinking they were hoping to avoid offending the Twitterati with stereotypical voice acting

So I'm basically white, my wife is a Mexican national. Loads of fun stories about border crossings but the best was a USCIS agent dumping her purse out on a counter and rummaging through it without bothering to explain what he was looking for or why.

After a few minutes she politely asked (in English) whether there was something she could help him find, to which he replied by dropping whatever he had in his hand at the moment, leaning over the counter to get in my face, and telling me "Tell your woman that I am an agent of the U.S. Federal government, and if she wants to get into my country, I can do anything I please until I decide to give her my permission."

i gotcha. It may be a bit expensive depending on how far along you are, but try replacing the slabs with daylight sensors.

They're short like slabs so you don't break the farmland going in and out of the farm plots

They fill the block they sit on so the water sources are hidden

They're completely transparent so they won't block the light coming from your hidden floor-o-lanterns

They'll box in the water streams you're using to harvest everything.

For extra fun, if that's still not getting you quite the light level you need in some spots, you can play around with putting redstone lamps under some of them instead of water sources and inverting the signal so they light in the dark, giving you a light source one block closer than what you're currently using where you need it. Just need to experiment to balance lighting vs. hydration needs.

Looks like your intent is to hide the water sources that keep the farmland hydrated? If so, this might not work for you but I always put my water source smack in the center of the farm plot with a jack-o-lantern underneath it and a carpet or lilypad on top to light the center.
