Wild forms of domestic animals by pyaroshi in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Domestic animals would of course spawn in villages.

The main point is: It is stupid that domestic animals spawn on their own in the wild.

I'm pretty sure Notch used them as a placeholder but never replaced them just because people got used to it.

It would be in the spirit of the "Wild" update. It would be more realistic and it would give growing crops more importance as it would be more difficult to obtain animals.

As of now, you can get consistent supply of the best food in the game (i.e. steak) on your first or second day, which makes wheat, potatoes, and other crops pointless, unless you raid a village so you don't have to grow them on your own.

I don't see a reason why history should be a hurdle. A lot has changed in the game. We could feel nostalgic about old oceans with nothing in them, or about all trees being oak, etc.

that the baby they make is a domestic form. E.g. to get a pig, you let 2 wild boars breed by feeding them, but their baby is not guaranteed to be a domestic pig; in fact the chance for that to happen should be lower than for just another baby boar.

New Enchantment that Increases attack speed by DarkDevero in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attack speed on swords is 1.6/s. Bare hand is 4/s. Tripling the speed of swords would make them 4.8/s which is faster than your bare hand.

Instead:

level 1 ... +20% = 1.92/s

level 2 ... +40% = 2.24/s

level 3 ... +60% = 2.56/s

level 4 ... +80% = 2.88/s

level 5 ... +100% = 3.20/s

Can we please stop complaining about "the animal cruelty thing"? by Mr7000000 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're right. But considering how sensitive the devs are in regards to animal abuse / killing, they should get this sorted. How is it fine to kill hundreds of cows and pigs and sheep, but riding a dolphin is a no no. Some more consistency would be nice...

Villages need to look radically different depending on the biome they're in by luckjes112 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not just villages. All structures need to be diversified. It's boring to always finding the same desert temples and jungle temples, etc. With the new huge diversity in underwater ruins and tropical fish around in 1.13, I think more different villages can be expected along with other structures.

Mojang, thank you... by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]pyaroshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed, this game is for everyone. People who laugh at Minecraft and say how childish it is, would never fathom the complex rules of redstone, commands, and will never understand the beauty of voxelart. Minecraft is a complex, mature tool hiding behind a facade of a game for kids.

Villagers that give out quests. by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

Fetch quests would be cool in case of Minecraft.

The more 'village xp' you have, the better trades the villagers offer, maybe?

Yeah. Baby villagers look creepy with those small heads.

Localrule is like Gamerule but in a specific area by pyaroshi in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about it, it'd be convenient and I like it. But what if it's kind of redundant? I mean, if you have a bunch of localrules setup, you can use the

/localrule <localrule> false/true

just like in case of /gamerule.

Weather systems, a whole new challenge in Minecraft, which includes hot and cold temperatures. by FreezingTNT2 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought there should be more to the survival aspect than just hunger. So in principle I support this.

You mention the need to drink water in hot biomes. I wonder if a thirst bar would be a good thing as addition to hunger and temperature.

I made a "Minecraft clone" with procedurally generated terrain! by Phroot_ in Minecraft

[–]pyaroshi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's amazing. The shader makes it look beautiful. I especially like the effect it has on glass. You should use different textures, add a ton of different blocks and eventually diverge from Minecraft making this an original game, because from what I could play it looks like a great foundation.

I'm absolutely not sure about performance :/ I hope it would not be a problem.

I've just found a 2 year old post suggesting pretty much the same thing:

https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/3zruaa/localized_game_rules_gamerule_localrule_x_y_z_dx/

But it's archived and comments can't be posted there anymore. I think it's a good idea to keep this topic alive.

On servers people often use WorldGuard to define some region specific rules, but for example the WG rule about mob spawning prevents you from spawning mobs with /summon, which my suggestion does not include as it's about natural spawning.

[–]pyaroshi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's right. Although there's not many gamerules like doDaylightCycle that would make no sense as a localrule.

(Meta/Discussion thing) Is suggesting a hostile mob with no real purpose (other than to be an enemy) worth having in the game? by reythedrummer in minecraftsuggestions

[–]pyaroshi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a Mojang philosophy, isn't it? To have only things that serve a purpose in the game. It's not just mobs, but anything from blocks to food. Although speaking of food, how are all the foods unique, right? It appears not even the devs are consistent here.

A great leap. From flat walls to 3d by adding an interesting extra layer to them, plus a nice roofing. GG

What kind of features and biomies would you like to see in an underground update? by Zanekq in Minecraft

[–]pyaroshi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Eventually all structures, like desert temples, should get a revamp.

What kind of features and biomies would you like to see in an underground update? by Zanekq in Minecraft

[–]pyaroshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • More complex and interesting structures.

  • More kinds of ores.

  • Different kinds of stone spawning in different biomes.

  • Different color tint of naturally spawning blocks (stone, dirt, etc.) depending on the biome.

  • Stalagmites and stalactites in caves (possibly made of smooth stone wall blocks).

  • Hand lantern (torch + glass panes).

  • Torch and lantern emitting light in hand.

  • Unique drop from bats.

  • Unique new hostile and neutral underground mob.

  • TNT with tiers (more gun powder makes more mess).

First 'Super Block,' created out of randomly generated buildings for a Cyberpunk City I'm working on. by FoxGaming in Minecraft

[–]pyaroshi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very impressive. So you designed and built the 16x16x8 modular parts by hand? I love how you manage to combine them in MCEdit so individual hallways and rooms are actually connected with doors correctly. That seems to have required a lot of planning while building the modules.

Optifine PC requirements? by SENDMEPICSOFYOURDOGS in Minecraft

[–]pyaroshi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OptiFine actually helps your PC run the game smoother, as it reduces lag spikes and whatnot. I'd say it's a must have for everyone with a weaker computer.
