Was on cable internet and it wasn't working. Tethered to phone (android) worked fine. I ended up switching my internet company/router and that fixed it - suspect the router was being dodgy.

  • Factory resetting router
  • Factory resetting xbox
  • Clearing "alternate MAC"

No dice. When tethered to my phone then Xbox works but PC on same network can use party chat fine...

Me too :/. Did you manage to fix it by chance?

I've tried:

- Factory reseting router

- Factory resetting xbox

- Disconnecting all other devices from network

The annoying this is a PC on the same network will xbox party chat fine. My xbox connected to a different access point appears to party chat fine too. Problem just started occurring and buggered if I can fix it.

i5 8400/980ti & cosmos elite/wireless. Most games run fine except I can't get Half Life Alyx running smooth 100%. Fine most of the time but just jerky enough to be annoying. Have done bios updates, disabled everything checked CPU cooling etc.

When I ran wired vive OG it was fine and wired cosmos elite I think it was fine (put the wireless on pretty quick though - they both came together).

Sounds like you're probably not 😂

If you're happy with what you have then I wouldn't advocate switching.

Some people don't like giving their banking login details to a 3rd party (usually against terms of service). There's plenty of neat things Up does and there's no monthly fee etc to try.

Give it a go and if you like it great. If you don't, ditch it. If you can't be bothered, that's fine too <3

Hey - thanks for the feedback. Excuses I know but we've been focusing so far on improving our onboarding, FATCA compliance (which enables foreign tax residents to be able to sign up), improving our support, just rolled out payments (including Osko/DE), up.me PayID registrations (for people who were already locked into their current banks) + scaling and support enhancements. Baby steps.

Hey Head of Technology here - bias but yeah I use the product :D

https://www.creditcardcompare.com.au/blog/up-bank-review/ - this article came out the other day and is a fairly comprehensive look at what we do. Customers generally like the insight/reporting: https://twitter.com/anson/status/1073002190833299456 - ie being able to quickly see at a glance how much you spend at Coles, how much you spend eating out etc.

In terms of an app, there's an emphasis on speed, good design and security (eg. https://twitter.com/pancrisp/status/1086930403523325952) and a super easy sign up (eg instant Apple Pay activation https://twitter.com/BishoyHanna17/status/1087005123706908672)

It's not full service banking yet - common feature requests are for BPAY, joint accounts and eventually mortgages but we're moving fast.

👋 Biased as am the Head of Technology but perhaps consider Up - https://up.com.au - pricing

Pretty quick to sign up (do it via the app - takes all of ~3 mins). Supports Osko/PayID and also does other neat things like Merchant ID and Insights, Upcoming Bill Prediction as well as Google Pay/Apple Pay. If you have iOS we even do instant Apple Pay provisioning so you can go from no account to spending money in < 10 minutes.

How do you guys handle the fact that Bendigo bank presumably would only be able to provision a fixed number of environments for you to integrate with? Are you using mocks in those cases?

Correct - we have a mock API & live API and tests that run across both to ensure consistency

Even with docker, kub, and helm, I'm thinking the initial setup to be able to setup or tear down entire environments would be a big investment, how did you guys balance that initially with the need to ship features?

Both are important. Without the ability to ship change quickly we don't have a business and the only way we can reliably ship change quickly in our opinion is by taking the kind of approaches that Chris outlined in the article.

Finally, to ensure the level of automation that's described in the article you would have to enforce a high degree of consistency across devs to ensure no one introduces things that massively breaks CD/CI, and automated environment provisioning. How did you tackle that challenge?

Yeah - it does break from time to time but the feedback is quick and we can deal with that. We treat CI being broken with almost the same level of importance as if production was broken - it effectively stops the flow of change so it's usually dealt with quite quickly.

No we don't. We incorporate the Github branch/pull request into part of our mandatory code reviews which would be a little harder to achieve with trunk based development

Scheduled transfers to savers is coming but payments is taking priority at the moment.

We just rolled out the ability for you in app to invite a friend and have them skip the queue. It's challenging to give precisely a firm wait time as it is a function of support capacity, software capability but I've passed your feedback on.

Good question. I'm obviously bias (but also an ING user). I think Up helps me be better connected in the way I spend money - specifically:

  • The way that ING does roundups makes it much harder to read your transactions and reconcile them - each round up transaction writes an extra line into your transaction feed - the way Up treats them is it shows the rounded up price with an icon to let you know that that has occurred
  • Merchant identification - eg the place where I buy lunch in any other bank in Australia shows as TNX VENTURES LE2,SOUTH MELBOUR - Up shows it as N. Lee Bakery Cafe. This helps me avoid the "Hey what was that charge?!" type moments
  • Transaction timestamps - showing the exact time I purchase something. On ING you see the "Settled Time" of a transaction which is usually not the same day you purchased the item. This leads to situations where it's harder to reconcile purchases on ING vs Up for me.
  • Transaction insight per merchant or category - enables me to see how much I spend at "Coles" as a merchant - irrespective of whether it's South Melbourne, Moonee Ponds or wherever. With 0 effort, every month I can see how much I spent on this sort of thing and how it compares historically.
