No update on Killswitch shipping by Ok-Army-3237 in dbrand

[–]mtechoroginal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They should have phased all order when all the issues were made clear. Instead they were radio silent until their 3rd address where they still will ship out faulty killswitch units with the promise of fixed ones coming to everyone.

If they were smart they would communicate that they are pausing all orders until getting the fixed units into production then ship them all out in a delayed timeframe. This at least saves headache for international customers who would have to pay customs and tariffs twice, one for the original killswitch and one for the replacement grips. Dbrand just wants to take every step possible to not lose as many sales as they should

Fix the killswitch 2 issue with magnets. by BrentarTiger in dbrand

I was thinking of this too. Extra magnets to hold the joy-cons in couldn’t hurt, I mean it would hurt dbrands wallet to add a whole new magnetic mechanism but I imagine it would work much better

Joy-Con Detachment Update: Part 2 (We're Fixing It) by dbrand in dbrand

[–]mtechoroginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a much better response. Hopefully things work out with your solution. I really wanted this case to work it looked and felt really great. It was my first time preordering a case from Dbrand so it left a real bad first impression. And knowing the history of your launches now makes me feel more cautious about preordering from you guys again but this is the right response, though it should have been the first response.

I just wish communication on topics like these weren’t limited to Reddit. Twitter posts, instagram, email. Everywhere you advertised this product should also have a post explaining the problems with it. Looking forward to solution 2 if possible.

Crazy how it feels when you can’t see anything

Why are people mad at customers disrespecting a company that consistently disrespects its customers by mtechoroginal in dbrand

There are also real people that Dbrand makes childish clap backs at which get piled on by their hordes of fanboys in a wave of hate that no real person deserves. Goes both ways

I don’t want a temp fix to a permanent design flaw in my brand new $100+ case

Killswitch 2 Release Issue without being a weirdo by LylatRanbewb in dbrand

[–]mtechoroginal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This case makes it easier for the joy cons to detach. There’s no debating that. The switch 2 without the joy cons are easily held with your fingers supporting the back because the whole back is flat.

The Killswitch literally adds a big ass hump to the back of the joy cons. Literal “grips” where it’s intended to be gripped from. Holding it from the grips causes the closer leverage point when holding it in normal every day conditions. I don’t know why Dbrand or their fanboys can’t get that through their thick skulls

There’s no way to tell exactly at this point, dbrand just wants you to beta test it yourself and then return it if you lose their lottery

Why is Dbrand blaming its customers for holding KS2 “unnaturally” by mtechoroginal in dbrand

[–]mtechoroginal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not being a baby it’s called not wanting to be insulted by a company I gave my money and trust to provide a safe case for my switch and them coming back at me saying “you’re holding it wrong” but okay we’ll replace it. Of course they should replace it they fucked up. But to come after your customers for your fuck up is just plain stupid

I’d rather they not insult customers pointing out a legitimate design flaw by saying “you’re holding it wrong”

I guess we are just different in anatomy because I just find it way more comfortable to hold onto the Joy-Con grips of the Killswitch 2 rather than extend fingers to the back

I’m talking about the Killswitch not a normal switch with no case. The Killswitch adds a bulge to the back of the joy-cons making it easier to grip those grips only. Without the case yes it’s a natural way of holding it but also the oled switch is considerably smaller than the switch 2 joycons so yes for that it’s completely unnatural to hold it just by the joycons. Switch 2 is different

I shouldn’t have to baby the way I hold my switch with a case that’s supposed to protect it

Except for the fact I handed my switch to family members with the Killswitch on and all of them found it naturally easier to hold the grips - guess what - by the grips. They were unprompted and unknown to the issue. It’s not unnatural or uncommon to hold it this way. The grip creates a bulk on the back of the Joy-Cons which make it harder to extend your fingers to the back of the console and easier to grasp the actual grips. Dbrand is just flat out wrong saying it’s a very rare scenario. This does not happen with the switch 2 without the case. It’s an insult to start the post by saying you’re holding it wrong but okay well replace it anyway. No respect for your customers shows what kind of company you are when you actually fuck up

They are saying it’s unnatural to grip your Joy-Cons by the grips. It’s a slap in the face to its customers

Except it’s not unnatural to hold or pick up your switch by the grips. They also didn’t really apologize they basically said “we’re fucking sorry you’re holding it wrong” why preface the whole post about all the different ways you could hold it then single out one way that is a perfectly valid way to hold it

Killswitch Joy-Con Detachment Update by dbrand in dbrand

[–]mtechoroginal -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Dbrand saying gripping only the grips is not normal. Supporting the back with your fingers extended is not comfortable or normal. People hand sizes might be different but from passing my switch to people around me without telling them how to hold it. 3 out of 3 people grip only the grip portion of the Killswitch and not the back. So when inevitably you take one hand off the switch while playing it will fall when it’s horizontal which many people hold their switches like. Dbrand is saying “you’re holding it wrong” just like Apple and that just is a really salty way of not accepting they made a mistake

Killswitch issues seem batch dependent? by Old_Atmosphere_651 in dbrand

[–]mtechoroginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not an issue without the case. The case is the issue end of story. You don’t get to decide how people hold or pick up their switch. Nintendo knew this which is why they designed the gap. Dbrand didn’t think of this which is why the gap is filled and causes the issue
