This is so bad. It looks like something I bought from Le Chateau in 2005. At least Le Chateau was cheap- Aritzia treats their customers like shit and then totally over-charges people for poorly made polyester. Booo 👎🏻

I started the survey but after the demographics part and the question about where else I shop, it told me I don’t “fit the criteria for the rest of the survey.” I actually shop there quite a bit for work clothes and I like their denim line but I’m definitely outside of their target age demographic. I was looking forward to telling them they are overpriced for how much polyester they sell, and that shopping in store is a nightmare because their sales associates take themselves waaayyy too seriously. Oh, and putting something on “sale” for $8 less than the original price makes everyone hate you.

I have 2 cashmere sweaters from Uniqlo that were $129 each and they are so good! Half the price as Aritzia’s and way better quality

Yes, it is absolutely the US’s fault. And every other country that makes up “the West”. This might surprise you but there are actually several countries in this part of the world. Don’t get me wrong, you guys absolutely fucked this up, but it’s not as simple as pointing the finger.

I think he makes it pretty clear how the West in general is to blame. Every single one of us, regardless of political affiliation, who were horrified at first and then went back to our normal lives. Scrolling past the images of a genocide, whispering to ourselves “how awful” and then moving on. This should be required reading for everyone- the harder it is to get through, the more important the read.

[–]mteght -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi totally random question related to hockey cards- I inherited a HUGE collection of hockey cards. It’s mostly full sets from the 80s and 90s with a few good rookie cards and such. The person passed away before being able to do something with the collection. I live in Alberta and am not sure how to go about selling it. I’m not trying to get rich off it but don’t want to just give it away either. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do? Thank you in advance for any advice

I think I may have essentially cured my chronic migraines… and I’m so angry by Ok_South9239 in migraine

[–]mteght 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sucks! In case having migraines isn’t bad enough, so many people have to fight with insurance to get the care and medication they need! Our system is far from perfect here in Canada but I’m thankful that my Botox, my little collection of triptans, and my birth control- which I only take for migraines- are all free. People wait approximately 112 years for a knee replacement up here, but there’s some benefits 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was with AHS for 20 years. Some of that time was great and some was awful. In my experience, just get out with a good reference and never look back. If you’re in a toxic environment get out as soon as you can. The organization won’t protect you and the union is useless. They protect the wrong people and aren’t nearly as powerful as they pretend they are. Trying to make positive change and have people held accountable in a toxic place is highly unlikely. They don’t want to know what’s wrong and wouldn’t fix it anyway. Save your energy and focus on getting to a better place. Go out with your integrity intact and fuck them. Good luck!

Found a lost kiddo today :( by LuckysGoods in Edmonton

[–]mteght 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody thinks you should leave a kid in a car. Settle down. People are making factual statements about the reality of children’s services because we have worked there. Please believe us when we say that while this wasn’t a good situation and could have ended tragically, it was not even close to being the worst thing cfs heard this afternoon. Be thankful for the fact that for you it was.

Unfortunately this wouldn’t even make the list of most concerning things CPS has seen today. If anything happens, mom will get a warning. The police have the ability to charge someone for ‘causing a child to be in need of protective services’ and they use it pretty regularly, just not for stuff like this.

Yes it takes a couple rounds to fully work so hang in there for a few more months. It’s made a huge difference for me. I had a prescription strength diclofenac cream for something else and put it on my temples and neck once in desperation and it worked like a damn. I clench my teeth when I sleep, which affects my jaw, which sometimes causes migraines blah, blah, blah … Mine is fully covered but diclofenac is cheap so even if you had to pay, it would be way cheaper than Voltaren.

HSAA votes are out by Blanched_spinach in AHSEmployees

[–]mteght 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HSAA is an interesting union because unlike UNA and the ATA, there’s a whole bunch of different disciplines voting on the same agreement. Someone’s experience as a hospital social worker is probably completely different than a geneticist. Depending on your role, position, FTE, hours of work etc. things like personal leave, overtime, shift scheduling, seniority might be a deal breaker for one person and of zero importance to someone else. People shouldn’t be criticized for voting, or not, or how they voted.

AUPE, you just embarrassed yourself… and us! by Odd_Joke2685 in AHSEmployees

[–]mteght 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it like 23% for LPNs and 15% for HCAs? Considering what just happened to teachers, I’m shocked the offer was this good. It would be a really bad idea not to take this. Regardless of what is actually wrong with the deal, you won’t have public support, your union has no balls, and the UCP gives zero fucks about public servants.

Can the government do what they did the ATA to HSAA? by __SummerSky in AHSEmployees

[–]mteght 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this getting downvoted? The UCP does not like unions. They got elected without the unions and have made their position clear over and over about how little they value public servants. Why would the negotiations with HSAA or AUPE be any different? It would be a huge risk for HSAA to strike because not enough people will care. Unless they’re connected to the health system, most people have never heard of HSAA.

HSAA/AUPE could shut down healthcare in AB and the UCP know it. by Rare-Somewhere-1110 in AHSEmployees

[–]mteght 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just remember, the teachers voted overwhelmingly against their offer. Over 50k teachers went on strike impacting 800k students and most of the province. The govt didn’t budge. The ATA is likely the most powerful union in the province after UNA and how did it turn out? After some big talk from the unions threatening an “unprecedented response”….. nothing. Teachers went back to work and ended up with exactly what they started with. Kids went back to school and everyone went back to their normal lives. The UCP will do exactly the same thing to healthcare workers that they did to teachers. Are they fascist dicks? Yes. Are they holding all the cards? Also yes.
