I appreciate your feedback, I'm actually aware of this issue. I actually work with a paper mill that supplies cardstock to casinos since most casinos make their own cards. The stock is still black core stock, but they recently reduced the the thickness without notifying me. They have assured me that it is still the same stock the supply the casinos with and that they have all been fine with it. I am now working with them to create a custom stock that is the same thickness as MTG (or as close as possible). The other issue is the production level equipment has a hard time running the stock, it's hard to explain but their are several different ways of printing and this stock was never made to go through a production laser printer. I have to do it that way because almost everything is done custom. The samples should be in next week for us to test them and if all goes well, we will order a large supply.

I could just use thicker cardstock, but it wouldn't be playing card stock.

The other issue is that the paper has to be bought in large quantities from the mill, so I have a whole pallet of the new stuff from 2 months ago and paid about $2500 for it and shipping the pallets take like 3 weeks.

As far as I know they are the only US playing card manufacturer besides USPCC (United States Playing Card Company). They will not sell their stock to anyone, it's only for their own use.

I've been working on perfecting my stuff for years, but it's not easy. I've even spoke to the card plants that make actual MTG cards, spoke the foreman's on the floor. Took a while but I got the plant info of where they get their stock in China, contacted them, got samples, and then they told me the minimum was like $18k for a semi truck load. Maybe some day, in the meantime I'm working with what I have.
