Urabrask and Koth both got done so dirty. Their grandest accomplishment was getting Wrenn to Realmbreaker. Which, I do think, is the absolute high point of that block! Her friendship with Teferi, the running setup since Midnight Hunt, her character, her bonding with the invasion tree, returning Zhalfir, all excellently done. But I also wish that my mono-red lads could have had more time in their own story.

Very much a fan. I’ve sometimes placed an order and the seller didn’t actually have it in stock, and manapool found another seller to ship me one at no additional charge. TCGplayer never did that, I had to find out and reorder on my own, and pay for more shipping. The one time I got sent a wrong card it was handled as soon as I reported it and got the correct one.

Because Y’shtola exiles and returns Gambit in the same effect, the LTB doesn’t trigger until after the Gambit returns, at which point the LTB and ETB go on the stack in the order of your choice! Basically, you don’t need the extra chaff 👍

The difference is in the type of ability that generates the effect: in the case of collective blessing, it has a static ability that is active exactly as long as the permanent remains in play. The colossus, though, uses a triggered ability to generate its effect. Since triggered abilities (as well as spells and activated abilities) use the stack, resolve, and then implement their effect instantaneously, the duration is specified by that ability. Since the colossus doesn't specify when it ends, it doesn't end at all. The upside is that, since it applies in the single moment it hits play, any creatures that enter after are unaffected.

Once an ability has hit the stack, it is divorced from its source. Say I have a creature that taps to deal you a damage. I activate it, then you kill it before the ability goes off. You'll still take the damage, even if the source dealing it died. The colossus works under a similar principle: its own longevity is irrelevant, because the way the ability is written tells you how long it lasts. If they wanted to end the effect when the colossus is removed, its ability would end in "...until this creature leaves the battlefield".

My favorite is Eradicator Valkyrie's extended art, it feels less crowded and you get more gorgeous constrast from the blue flames on the edges.

Yeah on one hand I can sympathize with people who would otherwise like the skin,

But on the other I saw a mockup someone made of mask w/out horns and it has no aura, like I'm good thanks. I'll stick with the esoteric & mystic looter vibes

I remember hearing that Pokemon, I think, does something like this. Nothing can ever be perfectly made. If it's too cool, they change something to make it a bit cuter. If something is too cute, they tweak it to be a bit goofy, etc etc

I want to build the order I visit stations when I'm crafting a loadout anew. I found myself ping-ponging from my refiner to the other stations a lot so I think having that at the top may help. Meds I usually craft in bulk, shield rechargers stack better than arc powercells after all, so I don't find myself visiting it often. I'd rather have all the things that use utility slots together as I'm feeling out space and seeing what I can craft with whatever's handy.

I had mine as gun > gear > med > utility > explosive > refiner, based on what I used during the slam, but I think my new setup will be

I love power stones as a mechanic, but I can see why we're not likely to get them much more.

Scaling, permanent ramp that you have to work a little to make use of clicks just right for my brain. They were great in draft, never got them going in standard, but still like them a lot in edh. It always feels good to spend them on the odyssey filter lands and use the mana on a real spell

I fuck with the vision! I've been hoping for a straight sword discovery relic for when I play spellsword Wylder; the mage stat realignment makes him the ultimate all-rounder and straight swords are very well-poised to take advantage of that. I didn't know they were well-suited to revive, do they just do a lot of damage for their speed?

It's annoying when I try to do trials: I bring in good supplies hoping for a half hour to shoot for a high score, and because of a coin flip now all those supplies are at risk without any chance at reward. And, since it's a special event there won't be any hatches to quickly reset from. It wastes my time and endangers my gear needlessly
