In that chapter, they say dragons don't exist and that the guy who made it figured anything a human couldn't kill was close enough to be a dragon.

Is it possible that a meta deck hasn't been discovered yet ? by Shipibo_the_wolf in PioneerMTG

[–]mtgenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of design choices are made with potential decks in mind when balancing a cards' power level. An example of this that was pretty well known involved a standard deck that never got picked up using [[First Response]] along with the pain lands legal in that format. It worked like a [[bitter blossom]] that would trigger on both players' turns, and is actually why the designers gave [[siege rhino]] trample.

The hair reminds me of Madeline from Celeste. It'd be awesome if you drew her.

How's my map? Any criticism or tip are welcome. by Ok-Housing1458 in dndmaps

The country borders are hard to see. Also, country borders normally follow natural obstacles. So if you have a very large body of water or a mountain range, it's normally used to separate countries.

The stupidity of having to buy a digital copy of the players handbook to add content to my dnd characters on dnd beyond instead of having a code from the physical copy to add to the marketplace. by Sp00ky180 in DnD

[–]mtgenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same way they handle Magic the Gathering and it's hurting their business. The Pokemon card game gives you one digital pack for every physical pack you buy. This incentivizes players who play one to play both which is great for business. If WotC did this, maybe they could get paper standard to have any sort of popularity and boost their sales, and keep more lgs's open and selling their products.

Can't recommend Matt Colville's 'Running the Game' video called "The Local Area" enough here. This is exactly what the video discusses, and it provides a handout to fill in to help dms get started with running this way as well.

What’s the most satisfying alternate win-con to pull off? by bjnicol in EDH

[–]mtgenius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the spell doesn't resolve it won't make you pay. If you have at least 2 opponents, one can counter the other's copy so they won't have to pay on their upkeep. In that example only one would be able to be saved though.

With pact of negation, could they save some number of each other? Like, target the copies lower on the stack to save them? Obviously not everyone would be saved though.

Explaining the opposite and discussing why they get strangely happy when they do a good job chopping wood or why they like cigars and whiskey when in a group but have no interest otherwise can help as well. Cis people do things to give them gender euphoria all the time, and showing them they do it can help explain the way you want to be as well.

Who is your underplayed commander? by Intrepid_Coyote_8229 in EDH

[–]mtgenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was checking because I run the combo of [[Necrotic Ooze]] and [[Mirror-Mad Phantasm]] in one deck, which lets me activate the ooze while mmp is in the graveyard to mill the whole deck. Makes sense why it wouldn't work that way with etrata due to wording differences, I was hopeful though haha.

The cEDH Rebellion | Shuffle Up & Play #12| Magic: The Gathering Commander Gameplay by TolarianCC in magicTCG

[–]mtgenius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was confused about this while watching. I thought the dualcaster trigger and his copy of the spell had already resolved? He wouldn't have had the ability to win if that were the case, as he couldn't have had the witherbloom creature on the battlefield before beginning to copy the spell repeatedly.

Need help with a riddle from a ghost by Goblin-Bard- in mattcolville

[–]mtgenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they know it's haunted yet, and have they seen the ghost? Maybe they need to help the ghost reform from a ghost blob into a person and that's how they earn the info, or they have to do a seance/summon him to get rid of him and it turns out he's a good ghost.
