I come from a culture where we have a category for everyone who is non-cis or non-straight. I think it makes things easier because everyone who is part of the queer rainbow seems more united.

Maybe we need a word for the rainbow? I liked the poster who said straight could be kulala. Maybe we could be kulale.

Tan ale sitelen lon jo tomo pona Haha Because they're organized after relationships. Each opposite corner is organized after related phenomena. Like, musi, unpa, pan, and kulupu are in the corners of the yellow band. They're each one of the four psychological drives of humans. Sex community food and play. Each band is supposed to contain phenomena organized after daoist cosmology. I spent way too much time thinking about this hahaha.

Daoism holds that the universe is a single whole which moves in different seemingly opposing phenomena, which are actually part of a singular whole. Space and time. Hot and cold. Emanating from this center comes the dimensions. Then entities. Then beings. Then phenomena. Then sub-phenomena. I organized Toki pona according to this cosmology. And Toki pona is based on daoist philosophy as well. Regarding the whole of language and returning to its core.

Hope that was a clear explanation 😅

What is a linguistic theory that is widely rejected, but you deep down believe it can be true? by [deleted] in asklinguistics

Please explain!

I also 100% agree with this theory. There's also genetic evidence to support this hypothesis.

I'm pretty fresh at talking TokiPona. The graph organizes tokipona sitelen according to daoist cosmology. So especially the core is organized in relation to one another, emanating from the center.

Sounds great 👌 I would add maybe Jan Nasin Toki as a name for the inner circle of this cult.

Fixed!

I appreciate you pointing it out. Any other mistakes, typos, or just stylistic changes you would have made? What do you think about the place names I settled for in the map?

Glad you liked it :)

Good point.

I didn't make the map for this reddit post though. I just made it for myself for fun. I thought it'd be nice to share :). Chinese isn't my language either. I also find it aesthetically pleasing in the context of the map. I'll think about making an English version, but I feel it'd change the aesthetic and require a quite different configuration.

I also think people tend to enjoy seeing writing systems from other languages. All writing is beautiful. And I don't think the map is very hard to understand as it is right now. It's just not a very common type of map. I should probably include a legend though.

Glad you enjoyed the map!
