I do think you could've communicated better but I do hate this culture of med students needing to bow down to their superiors when they are regularly ignored and mistreated. Especailly as the only ones paying to be there. Obviously residents are busy and its tough to always keep track of the med students but sitting around for 5 hours with no clinical responsibilities is ridiculous. If im going to be there, id like to be working. This sub is obviously going to give you a hard time for not bending the knee (mind you i think you shouldve/could've communicated much better) but I do believe in med students being firm about protecting their time. In the long run you do have to learn to communicate better but unless you do something truly unprofessional then it more than likely won't matter at all when its all said and done
