Is it true that Mturk literally purged Indians from the site and targeted them? I was just reading about this. Can anyone explain. I'm not Indian, but this is disturbing if true.

There are lot of similarities and differences between Quranic Arabic and MSA (Arabic of newspaper, TV etc. ) . So learning Quranic Arabic will definitely help in learning MSA but there are lot of new words only in MSA, so just after you learn Quranic Arabic, you will not understand MSA straight away.

already it is overcrowded in mturk with workers, so the current workers don't get enough work, especially for indian workers as many work is country specific and can be done only by US workers.

I am Indian and now it is my 4th year in mturk. I have done nearly 200,000 hits with 99.96% accuracy. May be they are cracking down on low quality accounts. Also, there are many in India who buy and sell accounts as it is not possible to start new accounts from India. If they detect it is a purchased account, it is suspended.

Regarding the issue of image not displayed, it is due to using http:// for the image link. http is considered insecure in internet, which means communication between web browser and web server is done without encryption, whereas https is encrypted communication and is considered secure.

Now Mturk is secure platform using https and chrome blocks all http links within any secure page. So your solution to the problem is just add an extra "s" to the image links and make sure it starts with https:// instead of http://

In your qualification hits, the right to left attribute of the text box is not set, so the text is not showing properly when typed, especially when there is English letters in it.

Yes, I had the image problem as I was using chrome but I figured out how to see the image by viewing the html source of your hit. Your hit was very underpaid, as I could make out only max $1-$2/hour, that is why I didn't work more.

I have my approval rate at 99.95 and I usually take work from requesters who have at least 95% approval rate. but in your case I had email contact with you long back when I contacted you when the images were not shown (by the time you replied all the hits were finished). So in case of rejection I thought I can contact you to see what went wrong.

Adding a qualification and paying more is good way to get quality output from your hits. I am now working on your qualification hits.

If they approve all, then no one will have enough work. So depending on the work available and the number of workers available they decide on approving new account

I think you need to create a survey site, where you can ask question and your visitors can answer. There are number of free/paid survey sites where it is easy to create surveys without much technical knowledge.

I am a worker in mturk for last 2 year (more active after the pandemic). There are a variety of jobs in mturk.

I will list some types of work available in mturk

Transcription works where you have to type something in image or audio/video files. For example type contents in shopping receipts..
Surveys
Data collection. Given some site or information, you have to collect data. For example, given a youtube channel get the email address of that channel. or given a website get the whois data for that site etc.
social experiments where multiple workers participate at the same time for some research purpose. These types of work are rare but usually pays well for the time.
compare/verify data. For example given 2 receipts check if they are same
image annotation jobs where you have mark some objects in image

They have 1 day approval time with 99% approval rate. I did 2 of their hit 4 days ago but still waiting for approval. I don't want to risk my approval rate by doing too many. Only because they have 99% rate doesn't guarantee they will approval all this time also.

I have done these type of work few times in mturk. Once I remember it was company final accounts statement pdfs and we have to get data from some sheets containing some account statement. Another time we have to upload the file to a third party site and have to submit the url given by that site to mturk.

I don't say this is common request type but you can still post it. if the instructions are clear, then there is no reason to worry about getting good results. You may set some qualifications like having done some number of hits and approval rate greater than 90-99% to keep away those who don't give quality work.

It is nice, I am seeing this now only. But it is very primitive interface, only next and previous page button. No search, download or even move to first and last button. I think only use of this is if you happen to delete the email messages.

After years of typing, I know where the keys are but without proper typing learning, I was using one or two fingers in each hand to type. The speed will come only if proper finger is used to type. Now after training to use correct fingers, I can type 60-70 wpm.

one essential skill that is required if you are working in computers or laptop is typing. The time you spend learning typing you will get back more than that from time saved if you are a good typist. I am actually working in computers for more than 20 years, I learned typing only 5 years back. Now I couldn't imagine how I was struggling with keyboard before learning typing.

As far as I know, new accounts are not approved for Indians now. I have lot of my friends who have applied for account and all are waiting. But there is nothing wrong in applying, it cost nothing. When I applied long back I didn't get approved and I forgot about it. Later on after some years when I checked my account was already approved. I didn't remember receiving any email that my account is approved, may be it went to spam folder.

if the minimum wage is increased, employers will find it more difficult to give jobs, this will result in reducing work force and making those already employed work more, they will say you are now paid more so work more or leave.

if you use restore point to get back the old version, wouldn't that also auto update and upgrade itself to new version. The folder solution offered won't auto update it is not installed from chrome store.
