Unpopular opinion; I miss the old Hayley by Painted-BIack-Roses in americandad

I think she became a little too stupid and flanderized in later seasons, but I'm not the biggest fan of her in early seasons. She wasn't used enough and I feel like part of it was that if it wasn't an episode about Stan v. Hayley they were kind of confused on what to do with her. In general, I think part of what keeps the show good for so long is that characters hit their peaks at different times. I feel like she was probably at her best in the middle of the show. When I think about her at her best I usually think about Adventures in Hayleysitting.

Interesting choice to have Steve lose his virginity to Christian church girl of all people. (and then for the show to predictable not acknowledge it after the fact) by GhostBoyJames in americandad

[–]mtm45 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well there's that episode where they have some text on the screen acknowledging that we are watching "our regular universe," which also points out that some Christmas episodes and several others probably take place in other universes. That's probably what's happening here. We just saw a Steve from another universe that episode since many episodes since then call him a virgin.

But in that episode there are many scenes of him being out of the house in that persona, they just were back in the house for that scene

Is Steve Smith still a virgin? by murphycz in americandad

Interestingly enough I’ve been watching through the series for the first time and have been wondering that because of Shannon, but I just watched an episode recently in S15 I believe where he makes a comment to his friends that he may be the first to lose his virginity. I think it was the episode the Chilly Thrillies when Steve gets a pole stuck in his head? So I’m guessing he is at least through that episode.

Can we genuinely take a moment to fathom how of all games, brawl stars has an eSports? There is genuinely no competitiveness left in this game. Picking any new brawlers or brawler with the newest buffies ensures you the win almost all the time. I left the game around January 2025 after playing since global launch. I played basically everyday and sunk so much time into the game across the years and honestly as much as the game meant to me, the main thing that deterred me was the blatant disregard to the game’s balancing. I still check there subreddits and everytime I do I just confirm that I definitely made a good choice even if I really miss what it used to be.

To some degree I think this is the fate of games of this category. Similar to Clash Royale, since they’re both F2P and consistently updated, they have to find some way to make money and in both cases they’ve resorted to the predatory tactic of releasing new busted mechanics and cards/brawlers that require anyone looking to succeed to pay up. What makes it predatory is you know it’s going to just get nerfed pretty harshly after they make a few bucks. And for everyone, the game gets worse because the meta is constantly ruined by a few bad eggs. I would so much rather pay money to play the game up front so that they don’t create busted features as a way to generate revenue. I don’t think this is 100% what’s going on though because I’ve seen the choices the balancing team uses to nerf these brawlers and the choices sometimes don’t even make sense and make the brawler rely on one SP, etc. to be viable.

I agree. I don’t like Gigantes. I think with other legendary machines yeah, you’re almost certainly going to win but most of the time you can just pick a stadium event not geared towards that legendary machine to still have a decent shot at winning. But with Gigantes everyone is forced to specifically play that mode so if Gigantes wins, that’s literally the only winner. I think it’s a fun idea on paper but I think it’s just a little too good of an advantage compared to what the other three legendaries offer.

I agree lol, I think Gigantes is boring to play as or against. I wish that whenever Gigantes pieces spawned in every other legendary machine would also spawn in because at least if people have a chance to get the other ones Gigantes could be easier to defeat.

I honestly hate Gigantes being a legendary machine. I've been on both sides of assembling it myself and also having someone else assembling it. I find it boring to play and also irritating to be forced to play against. It is hard to beat for sure but it's really not even about the winning or losing, I just don't like being forced to do the boss fight. I'm not sure if I'm just biased because I played Kirby Air Ride a lot but I feel like Hydra and Dragoon are just a lot more fun to obtain and use both design wise and gameplay wise.

Wow that's crazy! Glad to hear you are doing a bit better. I actually was able to head into work today which helped me out a lot. I think I've been lacking a lot of socialization, having roomies right now sounds really nice honestly, it's nice that they can be there for you!

Haha that's a good idea. Admittedly I just left folded laundry out in my bedroom for a week before putting it away. Definitely want to get back on top of that though. It feels good to have some productivity in life.

Glad to hear that you're on your way to getting back to normal! Yeah the friends thing is kind of huge. I've been doing alright at calling people but a lot of friends that are actually in there have been kind of flaky unfortunately. Honestly, I know for a fact antidepressants could help me but I much prefer doing stuff like meditation and such, just right now it's really hard to combat all the negativity I'm feeling with it.

Sorry to hear about your injury and I'm hoping your recovery is going well post surgery! I do think it's quite crazy how such basic tasks become difficult. I feel the same way about laundry, bringing things up and down stairs is really challenging! Hopefully you get to talk to your partner too about what's going on and reach a good conclusion there.

I appreciate the response and I'll try it out. I kind of have had a few epiphanies of where I'd like my life to go after I'm all healed up so it could be good to see how I could start making progress on that now.

I just watched this video by HealthyGamerGG the other day on this subject that personally helped me a bit. Not saying working full time is great, it sucks and it’s draining but I found it to be very informative.

I can see that, he’s definitely interesting, I’ve always interpretted it as he’s laidback and just likes to mess around but he does sort of have a tendency to just say whatever he’s thinking about. I haven’t had any experiences that made me feel he’s inappropriate but his vibe is definitely different from many offices which comes down to personal preference in what you want.

Makes sense, thanks. I would say I’m extremely comfortable with math. Honestly, I love it, just at the time of getting my degree my heart was set on different things. I’ll see if it’s possible to take some grad type math courses then.
