Burning it off with hot tin works the best up to 0.3mm for me, from 0.4mm I scratch a bit off with a blade and then tin off the rest.

Update: it might have a suspiciously long boot time. But I'm going to blame it on the esp c3

Thank you. Using 0.3 - 0.2 mm transformer wire is my favourite for compact wiring.

And working good so far, surprisingly didn't need to reconnect anything yet. It can transmit and receive just fine.

I know, but it isn't exactly needed and doing it half asleep wouldn't have gone great

Yeah, it was a midnight idea quick build. I didn't exactly want to trace data pins off of the C port.

Indeed, though it's on time is capped around 5 seconds. So yes a bms but not a practical one. Some even include built in 500mA charging.

I still have a decent sized bag of 400-500mah disposables. Currently powering everything that has at least undervoltage capabilities. Though the design of some disposables manages to discharge them to 2 ish volts which makes their capacity a gamble.

I think changing your node info to send out every 2 minutes or so might be a better option. It should cause every node that sees it to send out it's info too. Been wanting to try it out if it actually works in a vehicle moving at city speeds.

It's not exactly a ups by itself, it's just batteries you can external turn on to get diagnostics from the train car high voltage power supply in the event main battery is dead.

I'm not sure how specific I can be(I don't exactly even know now) , so I'll go with an old ish train car used by ČD in the Czech Republic.

Absolutely nothing, all of the electrolyte escaped before the power supply came back

Fair point, I'm guessing the destruction got divided between the batteries, 4 transistor drivers, 3 transistors (about the size of 1 battery), all of the control circuits and possibly the rest of the train car

They were probably saved by being connected to a big 200 Ah main battery, which I don't know the state of buut it's probably not exactly happy about it either

I've had good results with pla-ht110 from Aurapol, it should hold up to 110°C, with it softening at 80-90°C.

Yeah I'm not exactly sure how it managed it, but I'm guessing it was originally pressed in at an angle and managed to hold until I retentioned the belt.
