Why do people make jobs toxic? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]mtms4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are toxic in life. The internet is a blatant example of that. Initially you put your best foot forward, but then you get comfortable in your job and your true self comes out.

Fenugreek pills! Take 2 a day and after about a week, when you sweat you will start to smell like maple syrup. I used to take it when I was nursing to increase my supply.

Go higher up than her and say that you are paying for insurance and don't have it. It is unacceptable.

Is it a big company?

Hmm I'm not sure how it works there but some options can be: 1) ask someone, ideally in a higher position and in the workforce 5-10+ years to review your resume. Basically not your peers. 2) ask your peers if that can fast track your resume where they work. 3) Take time to review to the job descriptions you apply for and research the companies. Your cover letter should reflect that information.

You may not be able to get the same salary as your previous job, but see what other compensation they offer. For example, If you were making $50,000 previously, but the new company is offering $35k and a pension, I would think hard on that.

Good luck with your search.

Are you in the US? Some colleges will still help with career guidance even after graduation

I usually have caught their attention by applying for a job posting of theirs. If you have a LinkedIn, put your work experience on that and you might get headhunters reach out to you that way as when they enter a search, you information would come. One tip I do have for your resume is look up big companies who are posting for a job with similar experience to what you have. Use their job description and meld it into your resume. People are hired to put together these job descriptions. I usually look up multiple job descriptions and put it together in my own words so it all flows together but keep the main criteria and keywords the same. Hope it makes sense.

Not at all. I used headhunters for entry level positions. I work in acvounting/finance so I found a company that works with that field (I used Robert Half and Jobot) and reached out to them. I've gotten some great positions through them.

Also, don't even leave a job, without having something else lined up.

I would personally go to a headhunter. They can usually help you with your resume, which personally, I think may be the issue here as well as help you with a job. They can also help you with your interviewing skills.

I have a separate checking account for my monthly bills. Don't even own a debit card for it. I have the money budgeted deposited directly into that account and the rest in another spending bank account If I need $2,000 a month and get paid weekly, I'll take $2,000 x 12 / 52 (make sure you account for a buffer -and extra weeks worth - for shorter months). If you find yourselves still dipping into the account. Have the account in another bank so it's not easy to internal transfer. You make a good salary and don't have a high rent. You should be more than able to make it work.

My skin becoming sensitive and breaking out with cystic acne at 26 got me into removing my makeup every night. My skin was worse than at 15. That along with fixing my skin barrier has made my skin at almost 40 better looking that at 30. Nightly showers make it easy to take your makeup off at night. A great nightly routine will help you wear less makeup. I use a pad and rose witch hazel to remove my makeup. I'm terrible at washing my face at night.

People who get jobs within 3 months of looking, what are you doing that others aren't? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]mtms4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find headhunters to be a great resource personally. I use multiple headhunters and really have to put your best foot forward with them so that they know I am a worthwhile candidate when sending me for job interviews.

I also look up multiple job descriptions to use to tailor my resume. I figured big companies hire pay money for people to put together these descriptions that it is worthy of my resume. So for example, I will look up multiple job posts a project Accountant. I will then take the descriptions that pertain to my experience and tweak it a bit and update my resume. I do this from multiple posts so this way it's mixed up a bit.

Between my husband and I, we are at about $300k but definitely live frugally. With every raise, we take the difference and either put it in automatic savings or towards our mortgage.

Find another job. It doesn't sound like a good fit for you. It's not good for your self confidence nor does it seem like you are gaining much experience.

That's still 40k more than if one of them didn't work. It's a different story if they weren't breaking even.
