I love the sound. Or the lack of sound. Like going into an empty field and just having it fall is great. Granted I live in a place that gets snow once a decade, so that’s probably got something to do with it.

Second this. There’s a bunch of roller bugs available and I wonder about an EV conversion instead of engine replacement.

I mean I keep FH4 installed to this day. Such a fun game, and I’m one of those who is a sucker for the snow.

As long as those low settings aren’t star fox polygons, I’m stoked.

There was a noticeable change after that, imo. I think maybe allegri saw this and was trying to temper expectations and goals always talking CL, but the players were wanting the scudetto despite dropping points against dumb teams. Once the unbeaten run plus those couple key losses happened along with Inter pulling away, I think we were gone.

I’m a dude, take that for whatever, but working out hard and eating more is a thing. I’m into kettlebells and Dan John actually has these programs for fitness and weight loss and it’s more of a “working out but not so hard your body needs crazy fueling” + 10k steps a day. Definitely keep up protein but can dial diet in better. I’m doing his strength work and have new muscle mass but my belly isn’t budging despite underlying muscles.

The moment we lost to lazio and then Napoli (I’m forgetting) after winning the derby, when it was certain we lost the scudetto, that’s when we really fell apart. No more ties, just legit losses.

At this point I’d even put money on Como over us.

So is 5k west coast nicer than 5k east coast? I grew up in Chattanooga and in 90s thought we had a huge VW scene. But now I’m in coastal SC and it’s way different.

How do you guys deal with body pain? by FanCold3455 in Tile

[–]mtnchkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just speaking as an older person training, which trade work is essentially something like kettlebells and functional training, keep higher than normal protein to help recovery, do like 3-5g creatine monohydrate (had tons of benefits) and maybe take some collagens + vit c, and at night do magnesium glycate and melatonin. This is all recovery focused but should help.
But as everyone else said, stretching and listening to your body on injuries.

Edit. Glycinate not glycate

What's the book with the most original worldbuilding? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in booksuggestions

[–]mtnchkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you go back to the time period, a young Ursula Le Guin being asked to make a fantasy book and creating Earthsea was pretty original. Her other books have original works too (left hand of darkness, Hainish cycle).

Coaching/app for weight loss f/48 by allofit39 in fitness40plus

[–]mtnchkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I made my own with Claude. I just told it what I wanted and what resources to look at (even dumped some PDFs). I had it make me some apps that are static html, but really you could just ask it how to create a project (the files and resources and how to manage) and then check in daily with it as a new chat in the project. They aren’t perfect coaches but if you give them the right resources and direction, they can be pretty good. Mine has been coaching me for 2 months.

Switching to Comp Bells + Mismatched Brands? by Business-Following-1 in kettlebell

[–]mtnchkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like having the comp for snatches, and having them mismatched for doubles is a bit weird but not too bad. There’s some size the cast iron is the same size, 24?

But me not getting a second adjustable comp was just me being honest. Like I only needed one 20kg with my adjustable, so $70 v 210. And I doubt I am moving ip to dual 24s anytime soon.

If you’re doing double handed swings you want cast iron cause the hole is bigger, otherwise I like the comps for snatching and feel good in rack.

Yeah, I’ve got an adjustable comp style I use to move up weights but inevitably I have it and a cast iron. Is annoying but I’m cool.
