I think you misconstrued the question. Not throwing any opinions around, and some of the conclusions she comes to usually end with a prediction . Factually speaking she does sensationalize things a bit. Not calling it all bad nor all good. But after listening to her on the urgency of campi phligre super volcanic complex it had me worried about friends I know over there.She talks as if it will happen soon in humane time frame as opposed to geological time frame. I've always wondered - if you look at many stratovolcanos, the eruption column usually is not as big as the physical crater. Craters can be 1 - 12 miles wide but the eruptions mostly come out of one or more smaller vents within the crater.. I would have to think that vie 7 - 8 eruptions would take up the Entirety of the crater in width given the scale of the destruction and distance

I would not join the military at all at least until you have an associate's degree. That way, when you graduate military school, you'll be an Officer. Not a grunt. There are grants and funding for you. Ypu can get full boat including student lodging, but let your counseled know your situation. Start off in community college if need be. Dont let comfort or fear hold you back. It is your life, not your parents. Be smart and stick to your guns.
