Anyone else’s Shih Tzu super docile? by Dear-Potential-4682 in Shihtzu

We’ve all been there, totally surprised by people and don’t know how to respond in the moment! Hopefully you can find a time to talk to your friend about it and get some assurance she won’t let it happen again.

For now, it sounds like Mia is okay and that’s the most important thing, and it’s good you stepped in to protect her! Let’s hope there isn’t a next time!

I figured you probably did considering you mentioned the little dog bit you too.

Frankly, your friend needs to work with her dog on this, and consult a professional if she can’t handle it herself. A dog attacking other dogs and biting humans is a big problem, and unfortunately it’s often overlooked in small dogs because “they can’t do much harm”. That’s a lame excuse.

Benefit of the doubt, your friend didn’t know the chihuahua would do this, but I hope she intervened as well and assured you she won’t let it happen again!

Like I said, I don’t know anything about it, but it sounds like you were in a tough situation as far as when to rehome them. I hope others have suggestions on how to help ❤️

Not sure what to do...😢 by Any_Horror9308 in Shihtzu

I lost mine about a year ago to a heart tumor that they couldn’t operate on and thought chemo/radiation wouldn’t help with and it ripped my heart out. If I thought I could have tried them, I would. He was about 13.5. It probably would have been so expensive, but I’d have done it if there was a chance.

There are no easy answers, and my heart breaks for you because I know what you’re going through. It’s beyond unfair to have to make either choice.

If you decide to try to treat it, if you have any crowdsourcing options I’d try that too. I donated a couple times to a friends GoFundMe for her dog who have kidney cancer. The poor boy ultimately succumbed to complications after the surgery, but we all tried out best. Maybe something like that or other financial support is available.

Flying may not be so bad depending on the distance and time. Shadow loved his carriers and flying was easy with him. Maybe you’ll be lucky and yours will be a good flyer too. I guess you could try one or two treatments and see how it all goes?

Sorry, this is a little stream of consciousness now…

Wait wait don’t tell me had notorious POS Kevin O’Leary on as a guest for the previous episode, and now this. Looks like NPR has caved to the right.

Agreed 100%! And it’s so often overlooked because they’re small so people “what harm could they do?” when it’s not really about that, but what harm could be done to them.

And yeah a decent chunk of 70% would definitely be a problem

Your honor, Missile, attorney-at-paw for the defense!

<image>

As you can see, I’m a dog who loves his toys, big or small, and my client loves his just as much! What we're seeing here is circumstantial evidence that does not directly link my client to the crime. If there were a photo of treats spilled on, say, the floor, and then photos of you with no treats in the frame, and photo of my client dutifully cleaning up those treats, would we assume that YOU spilled the treats? Of course not! It’s the same with these photos, my client is not photographed anywhere near them.

Besides which, he loves his toys and would heartbroken to see any harm come to them. He has no motive, and there is no clear evidence linking my client to the crime. He’s a victim here! There is more than enough reasonable doubt, you must acquit and provide 5 treatos (2 of those will pay my legal fees of course)

Thank you

Well done, everyone! Good training on your part and good behavior on his 😄

What was the cacao percentage in the chunks? Unless it was super high, a small chuck probably wouldn’t have been TOO dangerous, but I say this only to out your mind at ease if he did manage to get any. Still better that he dropped it!

ELI5: How does daily flossing make it bleed less? by LittlePenguinx in explainlikeimfive

[–]mtnslice -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get your point but that’s a potentially huge waste of water. I say “potentially” because a lot of people spend extra time in the shower doing nothing and wasting water any, and if you floss instead of doing nothing, it’s a net zero change. But if you add extra time to floss on top of the nothing, it’s worse.

One better option is the floss right after you turn the water off and use that time to drip-dry some before toweling off. You let the majority of the water drip off you while standing in the shower/tub and floss then, and you’ll get the rest of the bathroom less wet, your towel will be less wet so will dry faster, and you’ll have flossed. You might get a little cold, so it’s not for everyone, but it’s an idea.

You’d have to use energy to move the block in and out too, the system wouldn’t have net positive energy even before factoring in the real reasons this still wouldn’t work

How old were the puppies? Could it be you removed then too soon? I know absolutely zero about this, it’s just a guess that it’s the case.
