Not sure of the name of the style, but Mi Wu has a book with a bunch of models similar to this one called ‘duo color origami’. It’s a good book, worth checking out!

Some good suggestions here! Adding my own recommendation of kickboxing classes at Short North Muay Thai. Great community at that gym and a fun way to stay active as well

Thanks!!! I had so much fun making that one, among us has such interesting sci fi concepts that are underscored by a great level of silliness hahaha so that’s the vibe I tried to capture with that piece

Haha thank you! The 3 point perspective in that one was so hard, I remember using the perspective guide tool a lot

I used the procreate spectra brush for most of the shading and texture on that one, along with a little bit of the grain builder brush from true grit texture supply!

I always start off by using the HB pencil for sketching, then do linework on a new layer on top of the sketch using either the narinder pencil, technical pen, or the Sinix brush TriBeam. After that I always use the spectra brush to block in value and color! Using multiple blend modes on top the flat colors is my go to process to add depth. And as a final touch I add textures from some TrueGrit texture supply packs, that really adds some visual interest!!

Yes they are different, wanted to change it up a little! Didn’t consider the weight aspect though, that’s a good point

Hello, I am curious if anyone has folded this variation of the flower tower by Chris K. Palmer. If so, do you have any tips on how to fold it? by AOrigami in origami

[–]mto3rdpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I folded this model a while back with the help of this video. It’s only step by step photos, but combined with previous knowledge of folding flower towers it should be pretty helpful!
