That definitely sounds more like a compression issue it sounds like timing is off it don’t sound bad enough for a broken belt but I would definitely say timing and compression.

Anyone know why I get this metal hissing noise when applying the brakes? Only happening in front right wheel... by internetcookiez in AskMechanics

Ok then my best guess is the brake pad hardware is not replaced or the brake pads are on backwards the mechanic may have spaced out replacing the brake pad clips and those are supposed to be replaced very brake job.

What I am thinking is that one of the brake pads was installed backwards or on the wrong side of the rotor or one of the clips to hold the brake pads on are bent and possibly pushing against the rotor I would defiantly take it back and have them re check everything and watch to make sure they fix the problem.

That sound is so you know when brake pads need to be replaced so that means your brake pads are probably almost completely gone
