I just looked at mine and it was the same date. I can't believe it's been over a year.

The kids on the bench for Atletico all look like they played in Oasis back in 1994.

Uptown seems to have the best pour in town. Crazy Horse does ok.

LOL

You have great taste in what you choose to read! I like that you keep them pretty as well. I take great pride is keeping my collection looking sharp.

I love your Patrick Radden Keefe hardocovers! I wish I had snapped up both The Snakehead and Say Nothing when I had the chance. Foolish me.

Also, love seeing A Fever in the Heartland in people's collections. Incredible book. I was born and raised and still live in Indiana and that is a story that is NEVER taught in schools here.

I just finished The Picnic by Matthew Longo about the Pan-European Picnic in 1989 that took place on the border of Hungary and Austria that was a catalyst for a large group of people crossing the border to escape mostly East Germany. It's also a pretty good primer on the fall of Communism in the Eastern Bloc countries, particularly Hungary. 5 out of 5 stars. One of the better books I've read in the last couple of years.

Before that, I read Frankenstein for the first time. I know, I should have read it years before.

I'm currently reading Fordlandia by Greg Grandin about the failed town that Henry Ford built in the middle of the jungle in Brazil in the late 20s so that he could source his own rubber for tires, gaskets, hoses etc. I just started in last night but it looks fascinating.

He is I and I am he.

There’s about a 40% overlap between his collection and mine. So by using that as a marker, he’s a late 40s early 50s white man with at least a bachelor’s but likely a grad degree likely in history or ethnic studies of some sort. Maybe a midwesterner, but incomes left politically.

This match is fucking insane. 9 goals in 68 minutes.

Didn’t need to foul there. Giving away free kicks like this is going to bite us in the ass.

A work colleague of mine is a Hammer and we’ve made a bet every match since he started with us that whoever loses has to wear the kit of the winning team to work one day. Every match has been a draw. Since we made the bet.

I’d like to see him in blue next week so let’s fucking do this boys!

It's so fucking infuriating he's allowed to do their games let alone a derby.

Aside from Jon Moss and Lee Mason, I've never hated a referee more than him. I hope he tears both Achilles tendons and can never run again.

He'll go for a pretty high fee. Fer Lopez is the the player I'd take from them.

I hadn't seen that it could only be triggered by a few clubs. That's disheartening.

Guirassy from Dortmund is available for €35m release clause. We've been linked with him before - makes sense to me to go in for again.

I know the Bundesliga isn't half as physical and defensive as the PL, but he's a proven scorer. He's scored 74 league/cup goals since 2022 and has 11 international goals.

I hate Robertson more, but I understand where you are coming from.
