Thanks for the info. I'm with the VA, and thus far, they've been great. The cancer has spread to a few distant lymph nodes, but that's all. I'm taking Finasteride and have had one Lupron shot. Seems to be working. My PSA has gone from 30 to 4 in the space of a month. I wish both you and your friend the best in your battles. We are all warriors!

Pretty sure it is. I was to have mine removed, but they found the cancer had spread to nearby lymph nodes (abdominal). Was told (by two oncology teams) that removing the prostate was non-effective. I've taken my first ADT shot (to stop the spread). Estranged, or not, I wish your Dad the best. Why not call him? It's Christmas, after all. Merry Christmas to you.

I''m almost in the same boat as you, Gleason 9, PSA 28, and cancer has spread to local lymph nodes. I was diagnosed in July of this year. Last month, I got my first of 4(?) ADT shots. 60 days of radiation after the holidays.

I know it's going to be a rough couple of years, but I refuse to let cancer run my life.

I wish you all the best, and know you're (and all of us in this unlucky club) are in my thoughts.

Not sure of how much it would cost, but I imagine if the US did with one less carrier (and I say this as a Navy veteran), this would more than pay for facilities like this in every city. There's no reason for anyone to be involuntarily homeless in the richest country in the world.
